September 27, 200520 yr The biggest enjoyment I get out of FS is the number of add-ons. From ai repaints to flight plans to scenery, etc. I don't think I personally would be interested in moving to a different game because of that. I would love to see more enhancements to the FS game itself, such as a removal of the 5 minute AI disappearing rule built into the engine. More ATC voices with different accents. Better handling by the ATC so they don't get mad when I fly a sid/star. And the biggest thing would be to have the AI fly their actual routes, not just a straight route from departure to arrival, actually flying in a jetway and seeing your ai buddies flying the same areas would be fantastic
September 27, 200520 yr Hi there Gerard, cool ideas; mulit-monitors is a good point. This is something which will no doubt be a growth market, especially in the long term for the more serious users or for those that wish to use the game for a sersious application like a teaching tool etc
September 27, 200520 yr ATC voices with differnt accents; cool idea. Interesting that nobody has done that yet. I wonder how complex that is to do?
September 27, 200520 yr Greetings all!Guys 'n gals, I don't think Peter is referring to Microsoft Flight Simulator at all. I have the feeling you are all missing a VERY important point here (sneaky grin)!Be well!Jaap Verduijn.
September 27, 200520 yr You may well be right Jaap.... but there is a bigger picture here too. What is said here on this thread may well happen. grin
September 27, 200520 yr - Landing lights, strobes, and nav lights reflecting off clouds.- Nav and strobe lights reflecting off runway and grass areas.- Rain removal wipers that actually remove rain/drops from the wind screen.Richard
September 27, 200520 yr "....Just a thought; if say Fly came back on the market; revamped with better frame rates and looked cool would you buy it and give it a try?..."Hi Peter. I never knew Fly. What was it like and are you gonna bring it back?:-)
September 27, 200520 yr Voice Recognition for ATC and signs that can be read going either direction on taxi strips.Happy Flying:RTH
September 27, 200520 yr NICE IDEAS THERE; THAT WOULD BE SOMETHING nice and simple and add a lot of dynamic feel
September 27, 200520 yr who knows what the future may bring with sufficient interest? It's really up to you guys, we all are part of a bigger picture of cause and affect. We are all co-creators
September 27, 200520 yr I know somebody who was working on that but he lost interest with working with me on getting products to market.Let's just say that I'm working on something now that could make a lot of this happen.
September 27, 200520 yr Moderator Peter,<Radar Contact v4 will include several controller and pilot voice sets with US, British, Dutch and South African accents. These are human voices - not conputer generated. Nearly two thousand different wav files for each controller and over 1700 for a pilot. No release date yet but it won't be too far away now. Apologies for the shameless plug ;-)Cheers, Ray (Cheshire, England). System: P3D v5.3HF2, Intel i9-13900K, MSI 4090 GAMING X TRIO 24G, Crucial T700 4Tb M.2 SSD, Asus ROG Maximus Z790 Hero, 32Gb Corsair Vengeance DDR5 6000Mhz RAM, Win 11 Pro 64-bit, BenQ PD3200U 32” UHD monitor, Fulcrum One yoke, Fulcrum Throttle Quadrant. Cheadle Hulme Weather website.
September 27, 200520 yr HI there Ray, good to hear from you...Will Radar contact work with FS9 AI traffic?
September 27, 200520 yr Peter - what an interesting topic!I wrote some ideas in the past and dug them up. Long read so BEWARE hehe!---------------------------------------------24 Jun 2005I am sure addon developers frequent this forum so I thought I might post an idea - of course milage may vary but I think it would be interesting and possible with the current latest FS...I just got back from another real world flight and noticed that the frequency of fires, particulary SMOKE is higher than one would think (we see the SMOKE not the fire so the effect in FS would be strictly SMOKE). Now this was in the southeast USA not the West, where I know they currently have terrible forest fires. Not the same, just misc. fires that end up putting smoke high into the atmosphere. It gives a feeling of "life" down there and would really add to the realism of FS. Now to make things even neater, couldn't there be an interface that one runs BEFORE starting FS that uses the basic effects files and RANDOMIZES where these fires/SMOKE are at, plop in the BGL's and then go flying? This gives a sense of never seeing the same thing twice, where one wouldn't expect to see it twice. It wouldn't stop at various smoke effects billowing from the ground...why not random SHIPS (that move or don't move doesn't matter to me!), BIRDS, sailboats, think about it. Things that are going on in the real world and yet are feasable to program as BGL's into FS...And for the BEST part- for a sense of challenge and again RANDOMNESS- why not have a NOTAM section in this program interface that randomly chooses various airports around the world and creates some things that CAN happen (I have seen it plenty of times), SUCH as VOR/ILS outages (is it possible to "exclude" an ILS before running FS then "fix" it after closing FS?)...closed runways, middle marker is out, etc, etc... EDIT --> So one would scan the NOTAMS section of this program before booting up FS and going flying to be sure no bad things are at their planned destination..The only REAL tough part (maybe not for the experts?) is determining where land ends and water starts when building the random scenry files/BGL's, i.e so ships aren't on land or fires/smoke effect not in the water. The birds wouldn't matter too much I guess but one wouldn't want them in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean!I know there are a couple add ons available for smoke effects and birds, etc but the backbone of this add on would be the interface that randomizes and adds scenery files to FS before starting it.THANKS FOR READING and I hope someone takes this on- I know you would have at least ONE paying customer -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------10 Nov 2004Quit messing around with CD's and let us have it- full data blast via DVD and blow us away with so much data we won't know what to do with Okay so not everyone has DVD players yet Environment is king. The more we feel like we're there- the better the "simulation". Use your creative imaginations. Intelligent snow (lasts for x amount of time depending on temperature and history of temp for past x days, ice, (visual ice on plane too?) wet ground after rain for x period of time depending on temp, sun etc.Let us know it is summer- outdoor stadiums light up at night in the summer- dark in the winter. Leisure boats in the summer, spring, fall, but not if the temperature is < 50 or so?Ships, more ships! We spend a lot of time flying over water when going "across the pond". Give us more to look at if we can even see it through those new cool cloud variations Trains, cars, just some things to let us know there is sim life down there doing their thing.Better cloud variations -an infinite possibility of cloud shapes, color (darkness), thickness (volumetric), lightning that "lights" up the thunderheads in that eery "orangeish" color depending how far away you are from the lightning. "real" thunderstorms that build, create havok for those who are EVEN NEAR, and eventually die off late at night. (Can you tell I live in the SOUTH USA?)Shadows from clouds, more smoke type effects like on a very cold day a piston engine creates a slight misty like exaust at idle, etc. Thanks for listening.
