September 27, 200520 yr I know this has been asked before but here it is; maybe with some magic in the air?Just imagine for a moment that money was not a major object and with imagination to run riot and freely what would you like to see a flight simulator to do;Now I'm talking in the $100 range of a finished product with maybe some good on-line flying ideas.Along these lines, on-line flying and just generally good ideas for the sim, add-Ons, and just cool ideas what would you want to see in the game? Ease of use in mind of course, from flight planning to parking at the gates and ATC; the whole thing. What is it that you are really wanting to see.Just maybe this is not just a causal post but something mabye on the horizon...Kind regards,
September 27, 200520 yr Commercial Member Clouds casting shadows!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Nuff said :)RegardsTimOh, I forgot... if we could have animated lightmaps :) Like cars moving along the roads. WOW! With those 2 ideas in place, we wouldn't need fs2006 :) Tim FuchsManaging PartnerREX SIMULATIONS website: www.rexsimulations.comsupport: www.rexaxis.com
September 27, 200520 yr If microsoft used the same technology used in X-Plane and how it calculates the aerodyanmics of aircraft, that would be great. Also having the smooth gauges used in X-Plane as a standard would be just dandy. Support for new GPS approaches would be great. Also, a navigation database that can be upgraded every 6 months or so. Smarter and more robust ATC system. Man theres a ton of stuff...that's one reason why I hope they keep the series going. Theres so much more that can be done with it. The possibilities really are endless.
September 27, 200520 yr Peter, I sure wish I could help you but I am afraid that you might take my ideas and make FS so perfect that I will not want to deal with the real world anymore. :-lol I guess that I would like to see more realistic airports. What I mean by that is more airports with jetways and better looking buildings. I would like a better, easier way to control my add-ons. I would like an easy way to view charts in FS. I would like online flying to be easier, the set up of the software, not the flying itself. :-) I have a million things that I would love to see for FS but there are a few for you. Maybe I'll wait and see what others post and then add other things that have not been mentioned. By the way, I just got and installed your Flight Environment program and I love it! Great piece of work! I hope you get some good answers here!Take care and all the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Philip Olsonhttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/supporter.jpg
September 27, 200520 yr Thanks guys for the feedback,I really like the idea of improved on-line flying; with easier ways of doing this. Philips idea about ease of use to do things so important.I also love the idea of animations on the roads. There used to be this on FS2000 I think it was. I wonder why that was dummped?I've not yet seen a good Bombardia; like a good Lear Jet or a Global Express. That's the ultimate private business jet in my opinion.Boy would it be fun to have a play in one of those. I mean a real one of course. As for a virtual one? That would be well cool too.
September 27, 200520 yr Wet Runways!!!! Oh and runways that slope properly!CheersTimhttp://members.chello.nl/t.westnutt/realair.gif
September 27, 200520 yr Yea, I saw those shots and they look great. Even better if they are a bit more slippery; Sloping runways though, that would be cool
September 27, 200520 yr I really would love a flight sim in which the scenery did not appear so cartoonish..I"m not talking terrain, I'm talking buildings, bridges, etc...we have realistic aircraft, why not scenery artifacts, too. btw, peter, I'm the simmer reluctant to buy FE...but, after getting it, I would not be without it...sherm
September 27, 200520 yr Thanks for that Sherm,I know what it's like. Sometimes I buy something hate it then realize I really can't be without it. We all have a fuzzy kind of logic sometimes.Better buildings is what Philip said also. Interesting.... I must admit a lot about the sim in general is a little cartoon like. I felt that about the sky and water and clouds. so it can be improved, at least a little.
September 27, 200520 yr the way I see it is MSFS currently is a $100 simulator, if not moreif you bought the original plus a couple of add ons, guess what - your therepersonally, my pc simulator is about a $375US piece of software.now, if you asked this same question with a thousand dollar price tag, then your getting somewhere. CPU: Core i5-6600K 4 core (3.5GHz) - overclock to 4.3 | RAM: (1066 MHz) 16GB MOBO: ASUS Z170 Pro | GeForce GTX 1070 8GB | MONITOR: 2560 X 1440 2K
September 27, 200520 yr Hi Peter, I agree that things seem cartoonish at times but I think there may be hope for us. Have you ever noticed that in certain lighting conditions things look very realistic but once that condition is gone we go back to the cartoonish look? Since there is a time that it looks good that means we have something to work with, at least I would think. I would imagine that by changing the lighting or some other factors we could have the sim look more realistic more often. Does my logic make sense to you? There are times in the sim where I think wow this is really awesome, so realistic, but then the camera angle changes and all of that beauty goes away, sad. Well said about the Global Express, that has to be the coolest plane in the world, at least I think so. I think that I can honestly say that I would love to be flying one of those right now! September 27, 200520 yr Good points Philip,There must indeed be a point where it looks real. I wonder if some of the basic building textures are a little too contrastly? That would be easy to fix. It does seem to be related to angle of the sun.As for the globabl express. We can dream about that. Imagine what it must be like to own one of those things. I wonder what that would be like. How much do they cost....I'll start saving.....Sersiously though, it would be a very nice aircraft to have on the game. It seems to me that Bombardia are not well represented in this sim which is a supprise considering the Lear jet was there almost from day one.
September 27, 200520 yr frame rates; LOLalways going to be a problem.Just a thought; if say Fly came back on the market; revamped with better frame rates and looked cool would you buy it and give it a try?
September 27, 200520 yr Hi Peter,Here some thoughts :- ATC also European based and not just US based. Ofcoarse with country dependent accents and the posibility of voice control.- A really working overhead for bigger aircraft. Not just lights and one fuel switch.- A re-developed AI traffic engine so with multipel pc's in a network with multiple views they move sync'd over all monitors.- A more flued Fs engine.Best regards, 5950x3d 5.4-5.7 GHz - Asus ROG 870 Crosshair Apex - GSkill Neo 2x 24 Gb 6000 mhz / cas 26 - MSI RTX 5090 Gaming Trio OC - 1x SSD M2 6000 2TB - 1x SSD M2 2800/1800 1Tb - Corsair 5400 case - Corsair 360 liquid cooling set - 3x 75’ TCL tv. 13600 6 cores @ 5.1 GHz / 8 cores @ 4.0 GHz (hypterthreading on) - Asus ROG Strix Gaming D - GSkill Trident 4x Gb 3200 MHz cas 15 - Asus TUF RTX 4080 16 Gb - 1x SSD M2 2800/1800 2TB - 2x Sata 600 SSD 500 Mb - Corsair D4000 Airflow case - NXT Krajen Z63 AIO liquide cooling - FOV : 200 degrees My flightsim vids : https://www.youtube.com/user/fswidesim/videos?shelf_id=0&sort=dd&view=0
