How's Reality XP's just released Flight Line ST3400?

It's not just the fact that Hnidec pulled a disappearing act on us...it's how it was done. He did us dirty, and I for one do not intend to allow him to reincarnate himself and take more money from people without any discussion of that.I think the people who bought a SimSystems product in the days before this vanishing act have a legitimate right to consider themselves cheated and lied to. It seems clear to me that he was taking money from new customers even as he was planning to abandon them. That's how it played out.Bob ScottATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-V L-300Santiago de Chile

>legitimate right to consider themselves cheated and lied toOK fair enough, but the man did not just pack up his toys and go home. He left his toys for EVERYONE to enjoy - for free (and they still are right now). Now since you desire discussion I respectfully ask you to please explain, specifically, how did he: 1) Cheat and 2) Lie?

>OK fair enough, but the man did not just pack up his toys and>go home. He left his toys for EVERYONE to enjoy - for free>(and they still are right now). The fact that other people got the abandoned and unsupported programs for free does not justify what happened to those who paid money in good faith that those products would be supported. If, in fact, Sim Systems was sold to some nebulous phantom other company, which never emerged, that deal wasn't conceived and concluded in a few hours. Any person who paid money for those products after plans were in motion to abandon all support for the product got cheated and lied to, plain and simple. If you want to see an example of an ethical and graceful exit from business, look at the Ready for Pushback web site. Ralph Tofflemire didn't just make an announcement and the next day turn out the lights and leave his customers to deal with the broken glass. Now Hnidec is back, reincarnated as FSWidgets. His history...his questionable ethics in the whole Sim Systems bailout...is relevant to anyone considering a FSWidgets product, just as the history of Peter Tishma and Papa Tango is relevant to anyone considering an Ariane product.Life is all about choices. Thank you, it is clear then that the beef you have with John is the issue of continued support for a product after someone else had bought the rights to it. For that you have every right not to be happy if you so choose and to express it, by all means. However cheat="To deprive by trickery; defraud", lie="to present false information with the intention of deceiving". That suggests you can determine this persons motive and have first-hand evidence of his intent and direct knowledge of the timing and format of the negotiations, since you do not have such information you have no basis to label him publicly as a cheat and a liar. To do so is defamatory and that is no wise choice.

Great, a truly brilliant legal analysis from a jailhouse lawyer hiding behind an anonymous alias...I'll just call you Perry Mason from now on.My dictionary also defines cheat as to "deprive of something expected" (like product support, maybe?) and a lie as: "somthing intended or serving to provide a false impression" (like a statement that this invisible phantom buyer would provide support, maybe?).He took people's money...then he disappeared leaving them with an unsupported product that was still far from working right. Defend that all you want, Perry.AMFBob ScottATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-V L-300Santiago de Chile

I am not defending anything other than the principle that it's defamatory to call someone a cheat and a liar without credible evidence. So if this discussion has now shifted to the unrelated and irrelevant issue of forum profile settings, derision and personal attack and you cannot substantiate your serious accusations of fraud and lying then with respect I will reply no further.

Perry; It doesn't require a profile change to sign your name. It's easy to run one's mouth from a position of concealment...which goes to your credibility and makes it relevant to nearly any discussion. After all, what respect does an anonymous voice from the hidden shadows really garner? I maintain that it's not defamatory to characterize buyers of a product who are denied support immediately after the sale as having been cheated. Or to characterize buyers...told that a new faceless nameless buyer that never materialized would provide support...as having been lied to. If you bought a truck and opened the hood after the sale to find a 6-cylinder engine instead of the 8-cylinder that the dealer told you it had, would you be cheated? Lied to? Even if the dealer really thought it did have an 8-cylinder in it? Let's suppose now you go back to that dealer to set things right, and there's an empty showroom and a "for lease" sign on the door? Now...what's your reaction when that guy shows up back in town after a couple years opening up another car dealership? With all that said, I thank you in advance for your non-reply.Bob ScottATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-V L-300Santiago de Chile
