Saitek Yoke mechanical issues

Featured Replies

I've been using Saitek Pro Flight Yoke for about 5 years now. A few years back I started to notice that when I turn the yoke to the left there is some friction inside - like a metal rod is rubbing against something. At first it was barely noticeable but over time it became very noticeable. It's still flyable but very annoying, especially when using one hand on the yoke (I do that most of the time). Is this common problem with Saitek Pro Flight Yokes and more important is there any solution?

I notice that myself- sure is frustrating.

This chap has kindly released instructions on how to replace the springs in the yoke with rubber bands:

Considering it myself, the old springs are getting a bit tired now.

Thanks,

Thanks, I'll check that out.

But at first glance that's probably a separate issue, my yoke seems to work fine, no problems with springs, it's that "dry" rubbing that's driving me crazy.

Mine has rubbed like that since day one. I tried all sorts of things with no solution. I even tried the Mods but the rub and creeks  still persist.  My yoke finally gave up as of yesterday, I have had it for 7 yrs.  On the fence on what to do next. I got out my trusty x55pro for now.  Josh

My next yoke is probably going to be something else than Saitek Pro Flight. This rubbing is too annoying.

Does Saitek Cessna Yoke have the same problem?
