October 27, 200520 yr Hi:I received the X-Fi yesterday. It did not affect the micro-stutter, but whilst waiting, I had managed to cut it down significantly through agressive ram timings. I still get a stutter on first contact, but subsequent intial contacts are sometimes smooth, somtimes negligible stutter. Also monitoring reporting flights on approach is smooth. It's now akin to the first texture load in spot. With regards to the X-Fi, the change is substancial. I went from an Audigy 2Z, and even my wife commented on the difference. Its akin to going from mono to stereo in that there is some much more texture, depth and levels to the sound. It was great to hear that there was much more to the FS9 C172 sound or the Forgotten Battles Zero sound then was coming through before. It will be amazing to hear sound when developers start programming for the features. I highly recommend the X-fI cards, and the benefits should be present even in the entry level hardware.Regards,
