October 14, 200520 yr Recently there was a thread about sectionals to load onto Googgle Earth. I loaded sevaral sectionals until yesterday or Wednesday.Today I cannot load any new sectional. Thruogh Googgle I get a http 404 File not Found.Going directly to the http://fox-fam.com/gefiles/sectionals2/ I apparently find what I need. But if I try to execute the loaded file (ex: I5.kmz) I get image not found. Then I wanted to use an already loaded sectional and I also received the error message image not found.Any idea what is happening with these sectionals and the http://fox-fam.com/gefiles/sectionals/us_J_9.jpg per example ?Roger Roger See my specs in my profile

October 15, 200520 yr Author BurscoThe error is the folder to which points the kmz files. The jpg sectionals are not anymore in fox-fam.com/gefiles/sectionals but in sectional2.We will have to wait that the correction is done. I sent a message to the owner.Roger Roger See my specs in my profile
October 16, 200520 yr Sorry bout that....Made several improvements and forgot to change one small thing, which ended up breaking it. Should be working now. But you will have to download a new KMZ file from either the Keyhole BBS here.http://bbs.keyhole.com/ubb/showflat.php?Ca...art=&PHPSESSID=or Directly from here.http://www.fox-fam.com/gefiles/sectionals2/sect6_nl.kmzImprovements include - - Changed it to a network linked KMZ so when I make changes in the future, they will automatically show up on your machine.- Added the 3D Airspace Polygons done by Lloyd Bailey (If you haven't seen these yet, they are very cool).- Cut size of overlay images almost in half. This makes big improvement on load times and performance and little, if any, difference in visual quality due to the way GE handles large image overlays.- Changed icon from generic push pin to an aircraft. Please let me know if there are any other problems.Matt Fox
October 17, 200520 yr Author Matt,Something must still be wrong.Loading sect6_nl just produce a title "Sectional charts of the USA" but no sub-options such the one produced by sect4. Can you investigate ?Roger Roger See my specs in my profile
October 17, 200520 yr The sect6_nl.kmz file should just load the one below via a network link. It sometimes takes a few seconds to load the linked KMZ, but should be working. If you still have problems, you can load the networked linked file directly (below). Only difference is if I make any future changes you won't get them automatically.http://www.fox-fam.com/gefiles/sectionals2/sect6.kmzAlso, make sure you're using most current version of GE.Matt
October 17, 200520 yr Author Matt,I tried it from both links. Same results. There is something that puzzles me. Your sect-4 is 4K but the sect-6 is only 1KSomething must be missing.I restarted the load of sect-6 after cleaning my unload library. Still always just the title "SectionalCharts of USA" even after 1/2 hour waiting.Roger Roger See my specs in my profile

October 18, 200520 yr >Matt,>>I did not realize that the last link you gave me is totally>differen t from the two other links mentioned previously.>This one works. Its size is 5 KB instead of 1 KB>>RogerOk, glad it works. Not sure why the other one doesn't work. ALl the 1k one does is point to and load the 5KB file. Would you do me a favor and try to create a new Network Link in Google Earth (easy to do from toolbar) and enter this as the URL.http://www.fox-fam.com/gefiles/sectionals2/sect6.kmzAnd let me know if that works.Matt
October 19, 200520 yr Author Matt,I am not to sure what you are asking me to do. This is what I did.I started Googgle Earth. Choose the Add option in the toolbar then Network Link. I received a panel Googgle Earth - New Network Link. There I types http://www.fox-fam.com/gefiles/sectionals2/sect6.kmz in the location box (? is that what you wanted ?). Used My Places as target. Then pressed OKI then filled the box next to the Googgle Earth and waited. And waited. And waited. Nothing happens.Did I do what you asked for ?Roger Roger See my specs in my profile
October 19, 200520 yr This link goes to a zip file, you have to open the file and then run the KMZ file which will start up google earth. Then you look in the left hand panel and under temporary place it reads: SECTIONAL CHARTS, make sure that is clicked and then you should see all the numbers come on google earth. Hope this helps.Danny>Matt,>>I am not to sure what you are asking me to do. >This is what I did.>I started Googgle Earth. Choose the Add option in the toolbar>then Network Link. October 19, 200520 yr Author Yes Danny,But read Matt's notes.I can and did load directly sect6.kmz. And that works. But the link that he mentioned in his first message doesn't do that. That is what we are trying to figure out why. When I follow that link I just get the Sectional title in Googgle and that is all. No reply when I activate the box next to it.Roger Roger See my specs in my profile

Maybe firewall issue or something, not really sure. Are you sure you're using most current version of GE?Anyway, you can still use the other KMZ file directly, only thing you are missing out on is if I add any new maps in the future, you won't automatically get the updated KMZ.Matt
October 20, 200520 yr Author Matt,I can live with that.I will keep on investigating on my side and check as you mentioned. If I find the problem I will let you know.Thank you for your help.Roger Roger See my specs in my profile
