Although I am not a happy camper right now, I need to thank you very much for reporting this issue.

 

I was afraid it would happen someday, and now it has. After selecting the new version file in Windows Explorer, I unintentionally clicked on 'Share a OneDrive link'. Apparently this generates a new link and invalidates the old one. The link is hardcoded within SLX and now the update mechanism is broken @#$#$^^#%&$.

 

I fixed the issue, and you can find the new version here. I will upload this new version to the library as soon as I can, add a sticky post and send an e-mail to all who have contacted me in the past.

Hi Maarten,

 

I received your email this morning, downloaded and installed the file.  Once done, it would not start up - no indications in Event Viewer, and only an instant recognition in Task Manager before disappearing.  So, I uninstalled the latest version (today's), and reinstalled a previous version, and it's working as it should.  So, for whatever reason, the latest version will not run on my system (yes, it's set to run as admin, as is everything on my W7-64 system).

To be able to diagnose your issue, I need the %Documents%\SimLauncherX\SimLauncherX.log file. Without the log file I have no clue. Please install the latest version again, run it and send me the log file directly afterwards. You can find my e-mail address on the front page of the user guide.

 

Btw: do you have .NET 4.6.1 installed? Since about a month ago SLX needs that version of .NET. If you are not sure, follow these instructions.

Hmmmm...just re-downloaded and reinstalled latest version from your link above, and all is well now....don't know what happened before (yes, I do have .net 4.6.1).  Everything seems ok now.

Unable to update to the latest version (5.0.5967.32951) and AVSIM will not allow me to post an image of the error.

 

Looks like the original problem has returned.

I also cannot find another version anywhere on the web.

Btw: you can post an image if you upload you image first to some server (e.g. fsfiles.org) and then insert a link to your uploaded image by using the image button on the toolbar.

I think I have the same problem.

SimlauncherX downloads the file for update, but then, update fails.

Latest version : 5.0.5967.32851
