NOAA plugin

Featured Replies

José.

On Xplane opening screen where I select the aircraft and weather options (clear day etc).

At the bottom I had "check" the box for use real weather ...

Edit: next time I started Xplane the box was "Un-checked" so I left it that way .. maybe NOaa did it ..OK.

I it checked. (for testing).

Got to KATL and I seen a grey cloudy day.

"You should not enable X-Plane's own auto fetch. Even if you do, the NOAA plugin will disable it by itself when it starts...
Yes, it was checked. OK.

Now this time I do get a NOAA Metar and I checked it against the FAA NOAA data and it was the same .. so all workning now

... thanks

Last questions ...

1 . should I think abuot getting (pay $$) cloud textures .. I forget the correct software .. program names ?? so that I will then see "good looking" clouds / sky or maybe not suited for Xplane10 using NOAA?

2. "Beware that there is a specific case when used with the X-aviation Weather Connector. ..etc

I do not have it , need it .. should I purchase it?

If you enable NOAA, all deafult weather will be disable automatically on X-Plane and weather info will be from:

NOAA, VATSIM or IVAO data.

A 1. Absolutely, X-plane default cloud system are bad and unrealistic. I use Skymaxx Pro V3 (sim changer for me) it has soft clouds too.

A 2.- real weather connector will increase cloud layers in X-Plane and you can see more detail on specific weather.

But you can try 1st Skymaxx and see if thats enough for you.

Alex,

Thanks again for the answers. Much appreciated.

I will go now and research/check/screenshots and cost on this Skymaxx Pro V3 / RWC.

I am presently using "only":

- NOAA plugin

- Default clouds ( I am waiting for news in this area probably coming with 10.50...)

- HDR mode enabled on X-Plane 10 Rendering options

- Real Terra Haze

and I'm fine with this combination.

Flying gliders since 1980

Flightsimming since 1992

Yes,

That may be my best choice also ...

I use HDR

I will check on Real Terra Haze next time I load XP10.

Thanks a'lot for your follow up, answers, and additional setup information / helping me.

HDR always enable.

for clouds, well @vonmar just search for screenshots or videos.

I have real terra haze, but most of the time I disable the effect.

Good luck

Alex,

Ok, I will test both ways with Haze .. later today ... and search for the screenshots .. I did just now see the demo video which loos real good.
