I will try and Diable FSUIPC, if it does not work I will contact PMDG Support.

FSUIPC itself is fine. Just turn off auto-save.

Hi, Riyach,

Before you turn off Autosave, you can also check the  Autosave setting and see if it is really set to 6 seconds.  Find the [autosave] section of the fsuipc.ini file located in fsx/modules.  Just below it is "Interval=".  I believe the default is 60 seconds.

You can also set Autosave to a longer period, like three minutes/180 seconds. .  Change the Interval= number to a greater number of seconds than it has now, like 180.  If the problem starts happening every three minutes (180 seconds) you will know what the source is.

Hi Mike

Thank you so much for the input. Now i face an even greater problem. I understand that the manual tells us not to switch between liveries as it will cause malfunction upon load up hence the need to shutdown FSX are start up again. I did not change liveries but merely restarted the flight that i was in and the whole system is dead. The plane is floating above the ground with the gears retracted, nothing is responsive.

I have to close fsx and load it again in order for it to function. I believe that I might have made some error during installation but Ire-readd the manual and did everything as instructed. I have sent a ticket already but was hoping to see if a faster response could be attained here. If anyone would share their expertise on this matter i will really appreciate it.

Thank you

Be sure you installed the simconnect modules as recommended by the readme.

Do not make any complex aircraft your default flight.  Set it to something like the default Trike. Then select either the 777 or a 777 flight previously saved and you should be good to go.

Hi, Riyach,

I don't think you did anything wrong.  Reloading the same flight is not that different from switching to a new livery or starting a different 777 flight.  Sometimes it works, sometimes not.

One trick, to avoid closing FSX, is to load the default Trike/Friday Harbor flight and then load the same or a different saved 777 flight.  I allowed the Trike/Friday Harbor flight to load, then saved it so I could find it in the list of saved flights.  When switching/restarting 777 flights from an already-loaded 777, I load the Trike/Friday Harbor flight and then select the saved 777 flight I want to (re) load.

Another trick is to just load a default FSX aircraft such as the Cessna 172.  Then load the flight or aircraft you want.

Both of these methods seem to work well, although after awhile they may stop working.  I prefer the first method.  Takes some time, but less than restarting FSX.

For a long flight though, I start from a fresh start of FSX.   I use the above two tricks more if I want to keep practicing approaches, for example.

Mike

PS: As Dan said, the Trike/Friday Harbor flight should show up in the startup window when you first start FSX (even though you don't have to actually select it at that point).  If the 777 or any other complex aircraft shows up at startup, you will just have problems.

As Dan also noted, installation of all Simconnects is important too in FSX Steam.

Hi Mike and Dan

Thank you both for the valuable tip. I did install the right sim connect nevertheless will check it out once more. Really appreciate the prompt and reliable advice!

Cheers
