PMDG 737 NGX only uses ASN?

Featured Replies

The 737NGX is on my list to fly, much much later :).  But I noticed a comment that only ASN successfully feeds weather data to the 737. Is this correct?  I've looked at the pmdg.com site and it is not there or not anywhere obvious.

yes  to use  the wx  radar  for  the pmdg  ngx and  777   you will  need  asn

taken  from the product  page  guess  you had  missed  it  half  way  down

Weather Radar - included free as part of the SP1 update, the PMDG 737NGX features a working simulation of the Collins WXR-2100 weather radar. In conjunction with the Active Sky Next weather engine addon, the radar depicts actual precipitation returns (not clouds!) and gives you full control over tilt, gain and radar mode including turbulence and windshear detection.

The NGX will work with any weather engine, even default.  What ASN does though is allow the weather radar in the NGX to display real precipitation, not just clouds like other/older add ons that supplied cloud information as rain.
