Runway lighting inconsitencies

Featured Replies

Not sure, but I am using REX 4 TD for my runway lighting replacement. But I heard that 3rd party airport developers use their own custom lighting. This makes runway lighting very inconsistent. I find some airports are very bright, and others, very dim. Some have big orbs, some small. Is there a way to unify the runway lighting so that it will match better at night?

It get's confusing because I remember that OrbX use to have their own light configuration tool, which I don't see anymore since the latest FTX Central 2 came out. Is there a way or tool to adjust night lighting texture, color and size with the new openLC North America?

No you can't unify it.

You kind of answered you own question when you acknowledged that some 3rd party developers use their own custom lighting for airports. The only way to modify that would be to have the developer do it or try to decompile the models/adjust effects/change textures which would require a lot of time and learning on your part, more than what you'd probably care to do.

Don't know the answer to your second question.
