August 20, 20169 yr This is just my opinion rather than a specific question. My negative opinion. I don't like them. We don't look around the cockpit and see it distorted, nor when we look at aeroplanes externally. Please don't do it! Now, no doubt the fish eye view can work for some artistic purpose, but please desist from posting videos and screenshots with fish eye distortion when showing off a new aircraft etc. Other will have different opinions, that one was mine. Small rant over. August 20, 20169 yr It is tiresome when overdone I'd agree. In the Virtual Cockpit you do have the conundrum of not being able to see enough of the panel at 100%. I read a pilot's comment somewhere some time ago, that zooming back a step in VC gives the best approximation of the "feel" in most aircraft. So I press the "-" key once, and have learned to live with that.
August 20, 20169 yr Author Thanks WingZ - I pan around VCs with the hat switch, but never tried specifically zooming out one step. I'll give it a go. August 20, 20169 yr People also do it (notice it's standard practice for official Orbx shots) because it helps cover up the engine deficiencies with autogen distance and texture resolution.
