The QW 757 is amazing, and another feature I love to point out are the cabin announcements. Issue is, I can't hear them. I have the sound files, have SP1 and 2 installed, have everything necessary.

 

Why can't I hear them? It said itself on the website it was all automatic.

Have you turned on the option in the qw757.cfg (located in FSX/Qualitywings)?

 

You need this entry:

 

PlayAnnouncements=1    

Yes. It's on.

Check the aircraft.cfg. The parking code must match the folder name for the QPAS sound file. Look for "atc_parking_codes =XXX" in the aircraft cfg.

 

So if that is in working order, you must deal with the QPAS rules. I have asked QW to lighten up on these, but it is not a priority for them. See the manual for all of the rules. Here are a couple of things I do to get around them.

 

When you start up the flight, make sure you enter the origin and destination into the FMS (I think  it is the RTE page). If you don't, the aircraft thinks you are somewhere else (previous flight) and you won't get announcements. Doing this clears the data from the previous flight.

 

Parking brake must be on and you must be on the ground.

 

You must be a certain distance from the runway threshold (can't remember the distance) and you must have the departure runway entered into the FMS. If you end up at a gate that is too close, enter a distant runway into the FMS until the announcements play, then switch to the correct runway.

 

Are no announcements playing or  just some of the announcements not playing?

When I load up a saved flight, the announcements still play on the loading screen.
