  1. Great, thanks for telling me that Blender is the better option. I've already had tons of progress done on Blender doing my project before trying Sketchup, and I'll try to provide screenshots and whatnot. http://prntscr.com/g8wokt
  2. Hello fellow simmers and designers, I'm designing a freeware 737NG cockpit for FSX. I'm new to modeling, but I've already got some progress done on SketchUp. I'm planning to make it look simple as possible, but maintaining a good cockpit look that is much better than the on Microsoft provided us with. http://prntscr.com/g8hqpx I would like to ask some questions. 1. How do I animate knobs and switches that the user can toggle? 2. How can I apply gauges to my model once it is completed? 3. How can I make the model so it can be used in FSX? Note this is a side project, and I am not accepting donations. I just want to do this for fun but also support the freeware community as there aren't very great 737 VCs out there for free.
  3. There have been numerous times where it has been mentioned that the PMDG NGX has bad cockpit dimensions. Now personally the aircraft is amazing in systems, and I admire its success in the FS world. Personally I just had to compare reality to its simulated counterpart. I'm not saying it should be fixed, but I'd like to compare it just to make a point to the people who believe the windows are just right... The photos are exactly to where they should be. The images were not streched in any way. They were simply cropped to fit into the picture.Hate me all you want, but it's my opinion whether it looks right or not.
  4. It's a good font, I'll just edit the letters because there's a small difference in between the two.
  5. What's the font? I'm repainting an aircraft for FSX and I've wanted to know the mysterious font that AA uses on their tail reg. It's not the AA font (American Sans) for all I know. If you can, please try to give a font that looks similar to the one below:
  6. I have started a repaint project called From The Flight Deck, which I operate myself only. I also made a YT channel to support my repaints and to post my flights that I do. Here's the channel trailer. Explore more about my channel by clicking on the "Youtube" logo on the video player.
  7. You're making a good point to some cocky flight sim pilots who claim that they are "A380 certified." As a pilot you are multitasking moment by moment. Correct.
  8. Just remember, you never know. Some people are different. Now I'm not disagreeing with you, it could happen. But let's not take it too seriously (like the movie Sully) and just say that FS pilots can land full motion sims, maybe even real aircraft with the right amount of training.
  9. Now, like I said, I never mentioned that desktop-FS pilots are not professional, talented pilots, but they could speed "the learning process" up when they familiarize themselves with flight deck systems.
  10. Now before you reply saying it's only a motion simulator, I'd like to make the point that FSX, P3D pilots can fly with real motion after logging some hours on good aircraft addons (PMDG and the like). I am not saying they are professional, talented pilots, but they could take over as pilot if and emergency (knock on wood) were to happen midflight. Watch the video below. I'd also like to say that the person who landed the plane in the video has used the PMDG 737 and trained himself on it. He is not a first time FSX flyer. He knows what to do, and he only mentions that he needs to add more stick force, because hey, Saitek and real aircraft yokes aren't the same.
  11. The QW787 is something to get hopes for, they've been developing for ages and they look like they are actually doing what they could do to beat Aerosim in the 787 business.
  12. How did you install the livery? Does the livery go to a non-VC model? Send a copy of the Delta [fltsim.xx] and I'll see it.
  13. So I made this repaint for the SMS Overland A320 and I want to share a screenshot of the plane. For a split second some people can mistake this as an Aerosoft repaint because of the shine. How does it look?
  14. I dunno about these but I saw this video on free FSX addons by Matt Davies : Skip to 4:02 and there is a thing called "FS Water Configurator" I will not know if you will be satisfied by the quality, but for me it looks nice and it doesn't hit fps as you expect it to
  15. Oof. What a sad turn of events for Scott. I would have left 106US alone though, why bother messing with history?
  16. That repaint though! QANTAS font is way too big. Landing = very nice & soft
  17. N106US ditched in the Hudson River on January 15, 2009. It's pilot was Sully Sullenberger, it's first officer being Jeff Skiles. It was owned by US Airways at the time, and ever since it flew its last flight on that fateful day, the plane stands in a museum in North Carolina. Never been, but I sure want to go there. Every since AA and AWE merged, does the tail registration N106US go to American Airlines, or under a US Airways title? It's brothers (N105US and N107US) are both repainted under the American name, and I want to know, does N106US also go under American now?
