Windows update crushes FPS

Featured Replies

HI,

Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1607 for x64-based Systems (KB3176938) crushed my FPS down to about 6-8.

I checked nvidia for an update to my video driver.

It showed up under the "10th Anniversary" group as v372.70.

After that install the FPS went back to normal up to around 38-40 FPS.

Now I can fly again....................................

Looks like Microsoft has had some glitches with the 10th Anniversary update - including my Logitech 910 webcam. That fix is due in September, I hope.

I don't even see that update. Scary though.

JCJ, thanks for the heads-up. I installed that driver and so far haven't seen any glitches in FSX nor XP with my GeForce 690.  But, I did not see any improvement in my frame rates.
