FSX config resets LOD and Max Texture loading

Featured Replies

Hi,

I use  the DX 10 configuration tool to change the LOD Radius to 5.5  and Max Texture 2048, however, when I shutdown FSX  and restart both the settings are set back to 4.5 and 2014 respectively. I don't know what is changing it. Has anyone else seen this? Thank you.

Bob..

BTW the DX 10 fixer restored between 300 and 500 MB of VAS using my Nvidia GTX 1070. Frame rates are a little better, but the VAS improvement should preclude any OOM errors flying tube liners in of and out of major airports. Thanks!

Hi Bob

I don't use DX10 Fixer but I recall that the Max Texture Load is reset by FSX if you change any of your FSX settings via the Settings pages. Perhaps you've changed another Aircraft, Weather, Scenery setting and that's why your cfg parameters have been reset?

Hope this might help.

Rupert is correct.

The fixer edits fsx.cfg and can write in all values fsx supports.

If you make any change in fsx to settings it will write out fsx.cg and those are the maximum values the gui allows for those two fields .

Fsx:se allows bigger values for texture max load in its gui.
