October 11, 20169 yr Commercial Member This is going to be off topic, but creating large (2200 nm) fix rings also cause massive fps drops right? I'm using Nvidia card, GTX980M. If it's complicated, I'll start another thread, thanks. Circles, being computationally expensive, will naturally cause a processor hit (note: processor and not GPU, as FSX was never GPU-optimized) and an associated performance hit. The will scale the perf hit. One should avoid thread hijacks like this. Despite being curious as to why anyone would need a 2200nm range ring, I'm only answering here because it's a quick aside. If this needs further discussion: new thread. EDIT: Disregard somewhat - just realized this is your own thread. All the same, it's better to make a new thread for a new topic, since it helps people find the discussions later, should they choose to use the search function. Kyle Rodgers

If it's complicated, I'll start another thread, thanks. Also does on my system too. Tried using assorted 500-1500 NM circles previously for ETOPS purposes and have noticed I'll lose about 3-5 FPS (or more if have multiple). Try a 9999 NM circle, brings my system to about 4-7 FPS. So, unfortunately, I just skip using them altogether now. If you want to start a new discussion on it, I'll be happy to share my test results (I've tracked some of them like I do with all of my VAS testing on the 777). If this needs further discussion: new thread. Yep, just a quick one. Probably not going to start a new thread because there are several similar ones concerning the same problem with the NGX. Thanks a lot for all the help, continue developing fantastic products! Haoning Qu
