Being new to X-Plane 10, (less than a week) how do I contact ATC to taxi from parking to take off? Also in that same line, how do I push back from a gate?

 

I understand that there should be some yellow arrows directing me to the assigned runway/gate?

This should get you started with ATC http://www.x-plane.com/kb/using-x-plane-10s-air-traffic-control/. Regarding pushback, I could be wrong but I think this is addon dependent, so it depends on which aircraft you are using. I think once you have ATC, you get yellow arrows on the ground showing you were to go.
