November 3, 20169 yr It took me a while but I finally figured out what's causing my mass flickering. With HDR on, objects such as fences, poles, or pretty much anything that's skinny shimmers a ton. With HDR off it's not completely removed, but it's a lot better. I run AA and AF at 8 and 16x through P3D, and most of my settings are default in the Nvidia control panel. My other settings are usually in the mid to high range (just assume most are far right with the exception of autogen and complexity which is dialed back a couple notches). For now all shadows are off, and AI traffic is set to about 15%. I've migrated away from using nvidia inspector, although having it set at 4 SGSS did seem to help a bit, but not nearly as much as turning off HDR lighting. Is there something I'm missing that can make this issue go away or at least reduced when leaving HDR on? I use the latest version of P3D. 5800x3d Asus 4090 ROG Strix OC 2TB SSD 32GB Ram
November 5, 20169 yr ...I think no - thats how it is. Either you can handle the impact of SGSS on the performance or you just have to leave HDR in P3D, as I did. And I do not miss it all... November 8, 20169 yr Time to upgrade the monitor.... Long live 4k What's your suggestion for 4k? I've just migrated into 4k yesterday. :-) Thanks. Best regards, Wanthuyr Filho Instagram: AeroTacto
November 8, 20169 yr What's your suggestion for 4k? I've just migrated into 4k yesterday. :-) Thanks. You can find it cheaper at places like Micro Center and Amazon. I also don't use freesync, NVidia guy. It's useless for P3D anyway. November 8, 20169 yr Hey DGraham1284. I was just looking at that monitor yesterday and almost pulled the trigger. Was looking at that one and a 28in Samsung. Was there much impact going to 4k as far as frames? I am using a Gtx 970 FTW. Kevin Humphryes
