CTD after upgrading to 4K Monitor
Hi, I am using P3D 3.2 on a Win7 machine (4,5 GHz OVC, 16 GB RAM) with Nividia GTX 780 Ti with 3GB RAM. My old monitor was an ultra wide screen with 3440 x 1400, and I never had a CTD with this setup. Now I have upgraded to a 55 inch TV with 4K resolution, and experience a CTD after about 3-5 minutes of every flight, no matter which plane. I am using ORBX scenery. In the event log, the panels.dll is mentioned as the cause of the CTD. Would it help to upgrade to a better video card, lets say a GTX 980 Ti with 6 GB? Thanks, Thomas

sound question
well... in fact you should not hear a change in engine sound as long as you are within the governor range. Only if you reduce RPM with the blue levers, the sound goes down. Compare it with the A2A Comanche, same here - they even implemented a very small change in sound when reducing power, but the governor reacts and 1 second later it is on the same level again.

Blurry grass/ground textures in P3D 3.2
I am using most of the ORBX airports in P3D 3.2 (only the ones with a dedicated installer), and they look great with much better in performance compared to FSX. However, I noticed that the grass/ground textures are very burry at the airports, while the runways and taxiways are crisp. Beside that, I have to issue at all with blurries, everything works just fine. Not a big deal for me...but I wonder if anyone does experience the same?

ORBX SOCAL
do you use a 3rd mesh?

ORBX SOCAL
I gave up on FTX Socal...too much of a performance hit. I have a decent computer, but with SCA I suffer from stutters and framerate drops which I personally do not accept, since I use FTX as a training platform with Pilotedge. So, I reverted back to FTX Global and UTX 2.1 USA - with sliders almost on all max. and no framerate hit at all. Of course I miss the nice textures and photo scenery from SCA, but you cannot have it all, unfortunately. I think the major performance drop comes from the upgraded airports in LA and San Diego region - there are simply too many of them. I even deinstalled the free NA airport package from ORBX and upgrade the airports which i normally use myself with IS3 - just put some static aircrafts here and there, some vehicles and people...voilá. It is also possible to deactivate the upgraded airports in FTX Socal I think, this should help if you have performance hits.

problem with X-Plane interface (2.94)
Hi, I have the newest releases of Panelbuilder and I am quite happy with the FSX version. However, the X-Plane interface is either in early alpha state or I am doing something wrong.. Have created a simple panel for the standard X-Plane 10.36 Cessna 172, using the provided gauges in Panel builder. The following gauges are NOT working correctly: Oil temperature - to high EGT - too high Fuel flow - too low (6 Gal per hour at cruise speed is more like a DA-40 with Dieselmotor ;-) Transponder - not working at all, just black. This is critical, since I want to use X-Plane on PilotEdge Autopilot: not working correctly...I can set the Heading hold and Alt hold, but the plane does not respond. See screenshot below. Any idea....? Best regards, Thomas

CTD with SPAD driver
Good idea Jim, I will give it a try! Thanks, Thomas

CTD with SPAD driver
Hi, I experience CTD events when using the Saitek switch panel together with the SPAD driver - with some airplanes, mainly from Carenado, but also with others. The crash to desktop occurs after around 5-15 minutes of flying time. The trigger must be SPAD, since I do not see any CTD when I am not using the SPAD driver. I have a decent machine (i7, 4.2 GHz, 8 GB RAM, Nvidia 680 card), no fancy FSX.config tuning, Autogen on normal, water 2x low, TML= 2048. Any ideas for work-around to solve this? Thanks, Thomas

Fuel flow during climb
Hi, I just had my first flight with this plane - so far, I am quite happy with it! Only thing which I noticed to be different from the POH was the fuel flow during the climb: The recommendation is 20 Gal/h with 30 in. MP and 2400 RPM. I can only achieve around 17 in., no matter how a set the mixture lever. Did you experience the same? regards, Thomas

Leaning the A36
Thanks Rafael, never heard about this trick - will give it a try! Have a nice day, Thomas

Leaning the A36
Hi guys, any hints how to lean the A36 in a professional manner? Seems, that the Leanfinder is only a dummy, and the EGT does not really work either as it should (almost no needle movement when reducing fuel flow). Only way is reading the charts in the POH? Thanks, Thomas
