What is the "DG fast erect" knob in the 441 ?

Featured Replies

Hi,

Like in the title. This knob seems do nothing. No big deal, just curious, I wanted just to know what does it, what is it used for ?

I have found nothing in the manual that refer to this button.

Thanks and Regards,

If the aircraft is upset and the Directional Gyro (DG) needs to balance itself again, the fast erect button speeds up that process. It also can level the gyro with the vertical axis of the aircraft when you are straight and level but the gyro is still upset for some reason. Its mostly a useless feature but its interesting to see it included. If you would like to test it, I would say do a hard bank and try to upset the gyro.

Let me guess.... you want 64bit.

Thank you Josh for answering,

I tried to upset the giro without success. Like I wrote no big deal. Now I know what is the "DG Fast Erect"

Not at all what I would have guessed it was for. (Kids, go to bed ;))
