But their Email inbox got a few more than average for the weekend perhaps. The BIGGER point of all this that I'm trying to make... is that we need to find new ways to promote GA if things like "Wings" are going to die. It's in ALL our best interests to be active in the promotion of GA.

I'm gutted to find this out and will send a mail or two to help the cause. I've just ordered satelite TV and live in the UK. I really wanted it for not much else than Dicovery Wings. While watching "Wings" channel I see they now started to air a new promo for the Military channel about every third promo...They have started saying something about ~watch 6 pm weeknights for "WingSpan" ~ ! And they show a few shots of GA and Ultralights..Can't find a Jan schedule yet to know and Discovery sure doesn't have more info on the site, but it looks like they are going to throw us a GA bone of some sort :-)No idea if this is just one program slot from 6:00 est to 7:00 or what..If you hear anything more, please let us know here.A small landing light at the end of the tunnel perhaps..

I beleive its just one hour of programming per day.Too bad its not when I watch tv. oh well...Wouldn't it be cool if they'd take a channel like spike tv, and include regular hobby aspects, varied to capture a more consistent viewership...sprinkled in with James Bond movies....I'd watch that!Oh well, until any of us understand how money is generated in the cable tv world, non of our ideas would have merit....its about money.I LOVE the shows about kit building. I could live a thousand years without hearing that one woman say "OH WOW" while she flys her 152.Too bad too, cuz nostalging over my flight training was fun the first time. More military programming is irrelevant to me, with hundreds of channels, I can't remember what I like and what I hate. I'm ready to cancel cable.Bob

Well, I can't speak for the US service, but the UK Discovery wings is just the same 3 hours repeated from 6pm until 2am. Its not a channel you could watch all night.
