Optimize Parts 'tweak"

Featured Replies

A while since this tweak was first found, is it still considered a really good option in the P3D v3 config file: OPTIMIZE_PARTS=1

If so, should any other settings be made to align with this tweak?

Are there any negatives to using it?

Thanks!

If you fly PMDG planes for example, it is recommended to enable this tweak

It's not really a tweak, but a cfg setting that defaults to being active. It should only be turned off (that's the "tweak") if one is experiencing either performance issues or OOMs. It's probably not available in the UI for good reason.

Hi, according to my experience, it's better to have this set to zero (OPTIMIZE_PARTS=0) to lower the VAS consumption in case you're using P3Dv3.4. Some people said that with the setting to Zero they've experienced lower FPS numbers. The conclusion is that you should test it (=1 or =0) to see which setting work best for you, depending on your system and your P3D version.
