December 9, 20169 yr Author I'm playing Digger through dosbox Oh, dosbox, it's Links 386 for me 1992! haha While we are discussing old games, I had a really quick look at some of the old FS versions from the site linked below. Downloaded a couple but weren't working for me on Win 7. Anyone know the best route to take to get some of these going? Would like to have a play at some point. http://fshistory.simflight.com/fsvault/downloads.htm Mark Daniels
December 9, 20169 yr That would be fun. Possible in Windows 10 as well? Robin "Onward & Upward" ... To the Stars, & Beyond...
December 9, 20169 yr Author Hopefully the mods keep this thread open. It's turned into a good and harmless miscellaneous discussion. The main topic is covered in the first 3 posts for those who search the topic in the future. Getting some of the old FS versions running would be awesome. Looks like they are all for old Windows operating systems but it should be possible to get them going on newer operating systems. I'll have a good look at some point but hoping someone has already done it and found the appropriate steps required to get them going. Mark Daniels
December 9, 20169 yr Author No, hardly looked at them. Just did an unzip and tried to run a couple. Thought I read something on the site that they were packaged up ready to run on Win 98 and earlier or something like that. Been messing with other old games and these were on the 'to do' list. December 9, 20169 yr I think they'll run fine with dosbox. You can forget using Windows. Simmerhead - Making the virtual skies unsafe since 1987!
December 9, 20169 yr I think I have fs98 somewhere still. If I can find it and make it work, perhaps I will take some lovely screenshots! Kindest regards,
