Reality XP Gauges (Dreamfleet Baron Package or Stand Al...

Hi all,I'm interested in the Reality XP gauges and wanted to hear from users about your level of satisfaction.I'd also like to know that if I purchase the Dreamfleet Baron w/XP, could I then use the XP gauges in any other aircraft in my sim?ThanksBillKBDL

Hi Bill,The gauges that come with the DF Baron 58 are locked to that aircraft. You would need to purchase the stand alone gauges from Reality-XP in order to freely use the gauges in any other aircraft.Jimhttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/pmdg_pf.jpg

Thanks Jim...I kinda figured that, but I wanted to make sure. Now to see if the gauges are a good buy!Bill

Hi, if you are interested in a most functional combination of the two, consider purchasing the Baron Lite version and some of the RXP gauges. There are excellent retrofits for that aircraft (which offers mor epossibilities for retrofits due to its larger VC gauge area). I have a Baron Lite panel with many of the RXP gauges installed, and it

Absolutely outstanding value to buy any Reality Xp product. Their utility can be used in just about every airplane you have. I myself started with their Jetline2 gauges then also bought the GNS 530 and later the GNS 430...then pro series and then the Sandel 3308 and lately the flightline T gauges. I think they are a good investment because they all work together and work exactly like the real thing. The DF version is locked to the Dreamfleet airplane. Works the same, but cant be used elsewhere. A good choice though if you wanted to see how the RXP stuff worked while getting a fantastic airplane from Dreamfleet at the same time. There are refits to allow you to swap the standalones into the dreamfleet planes later if you desired.Eric

Eric,Thanks so much...I think I'll buy the stand alone and experiment some...the more I look at the gauge functions in XP, the more excited I'm getting.I fly the Aleutians a bunch, and the terrain capabilities in the XP look great! Needed out on the islands to be sure. Thanks for all the re-paints and uploads Eric...I've got lots of your work on my computer!I hope that you fly the CV-580 with my Allison soundset (here at Avsim)...I think you'd like it.Yours,Bill Schulz

I have used graduating from FS8 to FS9 the following Reality-XP products:JL2 - used in turbo-props and jet-aircraft that already have glass attitude and limited nav indicators.JL4 - used primarily in jets and glass turbo-propsWX500 - allApollo 50 FLA GPS - all where needed. I prefer the cleaner look to the Garmin series. All have performed quite nicely for me.I also suggest you consider acquiring the visual panel editor FS Panel Studio to place visually the gauges with sizing and dragging options on the panels and sub-panels in aircraft of your choice where no proprietary design technical conflicts exist. FSPS is used AFTER using the Reality-XP configuration utilities to install the gauges in your aircraft choice. It is USD about $25, an 8 MB download from Flight 1. This frees you up from trial and error text editing of the panel.cfg. It not not a deep learning curve to use FSPS. This frees you from waiting for panel designs to be available on the Reality-XP Community Forum. If you follow the link to the Reality-XP support forums you will see FSPS is a favorite utility used by Reality-XP gauge users.Reality-XP support via their support forums and e-mail is very responsive. Upgrades at existing product major levels have not been charged for unless it reflects a major redesign effort.Very satisfied customer here.

I do enjoy those allison sounds! Good work. You'll have fun with the RXP stuff. You will also find them addictive...which can be expensive over time, but well worth it. I tend to think of buying RXP gauges the same as a pilot thinks of putting a high fidelity electronics suite in a real airplane.eric

can you use panel studio to edit the gauges in an airplanes VC?

I don't have FSPS but you can edit the VC's as well. There are a few glitches that I've read, though. The Aeroworx King Air has caused CTD's in FSPS. Also, FSD has copy protection that keeps you from editing their panels (it's by hand or nothing).I have become a Reality XP convert in the past couple months. Their GNS430/530 work BETTER than the real thing (no delay), and the FLT are capable of incredible smoothness in the right aircraft I put them in both the DF Baron and Bonanza, and there's no going back. Your Milleage May Vary depending on which plane you're editing.I also thought I'd not be impressed with the Sandel 3308 that came with the Dreamfleet Baron, but in fact it is the smoothest gauge I've seen. Truly an EHSI for the GA crowd. No framerate hits at all from any of them, and some claim improved performance after installing them.

Just another voice in support of RXP guages. You can't get any better. I have a number of the guages and the 430XP. Kind of says something about the authenticity when the sim guage company refers you to the maker of the real thing for the operator manual. Only thing left out is some of the diagnostic modes. Otherwise it's the same instrument you would find in a real aircraft.

Great gauges. I have the RXP GNS530 and the Sandel 3308 retrofitted to my DF-Baron 58 Lite and Aeroworx B200. No issues on the FPS that would caused by the gauges themselves, and I fly from the VC most of the time in both aircraft. Lawrie

There are a lot of user supplied refits on the Reality-XP website, so many of the aircraft you wish to add their equipment to may have had it done already.Tony=http://www.flightsim-bevs.com]BEVBetaSig.jpg
