December 12, 200520 yr In FS9 There is a functon and key assignment for Engine Start (Ctrl-E 1,2) and you can place your mouse over the starter switch to do Magneto check. But is there a Key assignment function for the Magentos? that I can assign to Go Flight or something?any ideas how i can simulate magneto check using hardware?Manny Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
December 12, 200520 yr The extensive documentation included with FS9 would have pointed out the "m" key is for this ;). Dr Zane Gard Sr Staff Reviewer AVSIM Private Pilot ASEL since 1986 IFR 2010 AOPA 00915027 American Mensa 100314888
December 12, 200520 yr Well...thanks for that Zfehr. I see the M there that says Magneto selection. When I loaded the default Cessna, and pressed m, it did nothing. I tried m,1 and m,2 and still did nothing. when I did capital M (shift M), the master switch was toggling.Hmmm...Btw, does this m (magento switch) work only for single engines or for twins as well? which would mean, M(left)1, and 2 and M(Right)1 and 2.Manny Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
December 12, 200520 yr After hitting "m" you need to use the "+" and "-" keys to move the engine start/mag switches. Verify your assignments in FS to make sure it is still valid. I do not believe you can select each seperate engine magneto for multi engine aircraft unless you are using FSUIPC registered version or use the mouse on the panels themeselves.Bud
December 12, 200520 yr Bud.Thank you. I have the registered version of FSUIPC. How would you do it with FSUIPC? Nevermind.. I found a set of commands for FSUIPC. :)It looks like the keys "=" and "-" moves the magneto switc..without the "m" key. Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
December 12, 200520 yr There are no commands in FSUIPC until you assign them. If you have hit the M key then the "+" and "-" keys will control the mags until you select another function that requires those key such as sim rate or something. None of that is being done by FSUIPC unless you have assigned them.Bud

December 12, 200520 yr With the latest GoFlight software update you can directly assign any magneto to GF toggle switches. Works like a charm.Have fun!Jaap Verduijn.
