January 22, 20179 yr We're talking freeware here, not PMDG etc. I've been flying the iFDG MD-11 around for some time now. I've found a reasonable CF6 sound set, but that's just the turbine sounds. As you know, the MD-11 had female voice callouts - 2500, minimums, autopilot etc. Can I just add those into the sound cfg file under other sounds? Or, are some of the sounds tied into gauges on the panel? Thanks. January 22, 20179 yr No, you need to write an XML gauge to control the sounds, find usable sound samples and turn them into .wav files and then tie both together with Doug Dawson's XML sound gauge. 7950X3D + 7900 XT + 64 GB + Linux | 4800H + RTX2060 + 32 GB + Linux My add-ons from my FS9/FSX days
January 22, 20179 yr Author ...ack! Thanks Bjoern! I had a suspicion that it would not be so easy. January 23, 20179 yr I wrote a how-to on adding sounds to the cockpit sound gauge a while ago. While not directly applicable to adding callouts, it does provide some insight and a base to work from. http://www.avsim.com/topic/500597-add-apu-sound-to-aircraft/?p=3539847 7950X3D + 7900 XT + 64 GB + Linux | 4800H + RTX2060 + 32 GB + Linux My add-ons from my FS9/FSX days
