Static Ports.

Featured Replies

My question is for the Dev. team really, who know this aircraft better than anyone.
I noticed that on N2331U when I went to see it in person, the static ports on the fuselage were white (see below). So I painted my plane in that variable.

But in a recent video I just saw of the aircraft landing in Tokyo, they are now dark! (Original video:

Was there an equipment change, or modification or is this just simply weathering effects?

Thank you to anyone with the knowledge!

Static ports don't get painted.  I think you're just looking at a difference in lighting.

That's just what I thought. I walked around it and everything, I could've sworn they were white! Probably was the lighting in the hangar along with my eyes and brain playing tricks.

I guess it is possible that you saw static port covers.  We just use masking tape when washing the airplane but they probably have special stickers that don't leave a residue.
