January 31, 20179 yr Hello Can you let me know if there is a chance to dim the "storm" light? It is way too bright for night landings. Cheers Csaba
January 31, 20179 yr First question: Do you use P3D with HDR on? There is quite a difference in using HDR or not. Second: I am not a real world pilot, but I don't think storm lights are intended to be used during landing? As far as I know, the cockpit should be quite dark so that the pilot's eyes will recognize other traffic and runway lights easier?! February 7, 20179 yr Author Hello I use FSX SP2. If what you see in this video is "stormlight", then the light in FSX is way too bright. https://youtu.be/lXA_-900a58?t=209 Csaba
February 8, 20179 yr Ah ok, now i know what you mean. Be careful with comparing videos and what you see on a computer screen. In the video there is a lot of light outside and a map light above the PF. I guess the storm light would appear brighter if is was the only light source in that video. But apart from that, did you try the alternative, more yellow lights? I cannot remember exactly if is was in the Majestic forum or at the avsim library, but perhaps you should try that one. They are not that harsh white, a little bit softer and more yellow. Matthias Ryzen 9 7950X3D; MSI X670E; 48 GB DDR5 Ram; NVIDIA RTX 4080 Super 16 GB

February 8, 20179 yr You have to go to the Majestic forum. Search for "dome lights", there is an alternative set, not just dome lights but also reading lights and storm lights. I installed and like it very much Matthias Ryzen 9 7950X3D; MSI X670E; 48 GB DDR5 Ram; NVIDIA RTX 4080 Super 16 GB
February 9, 20179 yr There is also one from the developer, I believe it should also be in your mjcq400 airplane folder, just look for the file "aircraft.cfg.p3d.altDomeLight" (this is P3d, should be similar for fsx I would think) and make this your new aircraft.cfg file. The one Matthias pointed out over at the majestic forums is very nice also, I use it too and looks great. Look for the thread "Changing Dome Light Color" Make sure you backup your files! Jd
