February 8, 20179 yr Commercial Member If there are multiple SIDs that connect to your route, instead of always assigning the first one, it randomizes. So, in a lot of cases, it will do nothing because the first waypoint in your route may not match the last waypoint in any of the SIDs. Similar logic is applied for STARs. This randomizing is done in the "Auto Plan" logic. You can always change them if you don't like them. It is also done in the situation where you have ATC assigning SIDs and STARs, even if you don't use Auto Plan. Dave
