P3d settings to get sharpest cockpit textures

Featured Replies

My 744 v3 cockpit displays are not as sharp and clear as I see on youtube videos.

Thoughts?

Cheers.

Hi Chris,

Probably some incorrect setting in your Nvidia inspector causing this. For me it is usaly a miscofig between P3D MSAA and the Nvidia Inspector Antialisaing Transparency Supersampling setting.

Do you have your P3D MSAA settings the same as the nvidia Inspector (NI) Antialiasing Transparency Supersamping (ATS)?

Ive set mine MSAA on a minimum of 4 (normaly 8) and NI ATS on 4 x sparse grid supersampling or 8, depending what my MSAA P3D setting is.

For the 747 I set them both at 4 where on the 777 I set them both on 8 (depending on flight though). I never use settings lower then 4.

Best regards,

So I set my settings as above.  But I still get much sharper/clearer screens/textures in my FSX:SE PMDG 772 than in my P3D PMDG 744.

Thoughts?

Usually FXAA and/or HDR. The HDR bloom that simulates brightness will blur bright things, which the white projected light of a screen is.

I will try disabling this and report back, hope its not the issue as I like the effect.

Likely will be, but all's not lost. Simply adjust your HDR settings to get it in balance.
