February 13, 20179 yr Alright, so I'm having a problem with the Captain Sim 737-200. For some reason it will NOT work when I run FSX normally. As soon as I choose the plane in the menu, FSX crashes. However, when I run FSX as the Admin, everything works perfectly. Is there a way to make it run properly without having to run it as the Admin every single time? I'd rather not do that, seeing as my Saitek Control panel doesn't work under the admin for some reason. Thanks. Avid Flight Sim enthusiast - soon to be Aerospace Science student Joseph Shanab
February 13, 20179 yr The only way to avoid running as admin is to move FSX to a directory outside of program files or program files (x86). You might try turning UAC off and see if that will be enough to make the aircraft happy, but likely it won't. DJ
February 13, 20179 yr Author Haven't tried any of that yet, but I just came across another problem; when I run under admin, none of my controls are saved. Avid Flight Sim enthusiast - soon to be Aerospace Science student Joseph Shanab
February 14, 20179 yr To run FSX as an Administrator, go to FSX.exe. Right click and select Properties. Once open select the compatibility tab. Look down at the bottom and make sure it states FSX will run as an Administrator for ALL users (may have to click on Advanced and select the option on the next page). In regards to controls, what are you referring to? The control section in the FSX config? Once you set them, you need to close FSX properly (I use Ctrl+C). February 14, 20179 yr Author Controls are fixed now. As for running as the admin, I guess that's my only option. Thanks anyway Avid Flight Sim enthusiast - soon to be Aerospace Science student Joseph Shanab
