# NTDLL CTD on P3D 3.4.22

## Recommended Posts

Alright it's been my third time getting this CTD.....Not sure when this error started but in general it happens on flight from Hong Kong to Europe. I have done the following:

1. Updated to the latest Nvidia driver (This CTD probably happened with the old driver as well)

2. Disabled Objectflow.dll from dll.cfg (Only active modules in dll.cfg are: IVAP, PMDG related stuff, RAAS, FSUIPC 4.9.6.1)

3. No exe.cfg

4. Used ONLY default scenery

5. Ensured every driver to be up to date

6. No OC at all, sim ran on my ASUS Zenbook Pro, 6700HQ, GTX960M

7. Ran system file checker to ensure system files are in place.

8. Ran P3D, Opus and EZdok with Admin Rights

Edit: One thing I realized is that I have my dll.cfg in C:\ProgramData\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3 , it already includes PMDG modules. If the dll.cfg in the appdata folder also include the PMDG entries, would that cause a problem?

It is really a pain in my axx as this problem persisted for so long, I did my test flight on the PMDG 747 v3 but it crashes every time when my in-sim-time is around 4-6 hours in-flight. Addons used are:

a. PMDG 747 v3

b. OpusFSI

c. GSX

d. IVAP

e. EZdok (Not v2)

It would be great to see this sim working fine, thank you for helping!

Edit: One thing I realized is that I have my dll.cfg in C:\ProgramData\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3 , it already includes PMDG modules. If the dll.cfg in the appdata folder also include the PMDG entries, would that cause a problem?

Duplicate entries in the dll.xml have caused the ntdll.dll crash (first hand experience).  You have the very latest version of P3D and I suspect that was the version that fixed the SLI issues.  Make sure you have the latest fsuipc.dll (if you have it installed).

If you have MyTrafficX or MyTrafficX6, you should disable mytrafficmil.bgl as it is known to trigger the ntdll.dll error.

You also got a StackHash which accompanies ntdll.dll errors.  Those are impossible to diagnose but the AVSIM CTD Guide has some recommendations and fixes other users have found.

To be sure, it is not P3D that is at fault here but an add-on.

Best regards,

Jim

You can also disable the dll.xml (there are two of them) and see if this fixes the problem.  If so, it is one of the modules causing the issue (P3D will rebuild the dll.xml to the default entries when you restart P3D, so, if you do rename the dll.xml and you want to return it, you will have to remove the rebuilt one first (located in the scenery.cfg folder).  Most ntdll.dll errors are caused by a module loading in the dll.xml but they load when you first start up P3D and required ones load after loading your flight plan.  Since you flew a flight plan, I doubt the dll.xml is at fault.

I suspect EZDoc as I'm not sure it is fully compatible with P3D (although the developer just released a version compatible).

Thanks Jim,

I have now rebuilt the dll.cfg and start with only the PMDG modules, yet to test if it works though.

I ended up solving the CTD by reducing the Mesh Resolution to 5m, now it's all good, thank you!

I know you say this is solved but also check your FSUIPC gets updated. Current version is 4.9.6.2 and the v.6.1 does not support HF3 as far as I am aware. I made this mistake and had sporadic crashes at start up. Updating to .6.2 fix that.
