Either leave this line out, or try a value like 0.15-0.20

Agreed, it's an extreme value but it seems to work for me. Normal values gives me blurries and there seems to no negative effects with. 0.99. My sim works beautifully so I'm not touching it ☺️

For op, probably not a good idea because of his fps issues, should've stated that.  He asked to see my config so I posted it

mine is set to .20 .. anyway, I think I'll try fresh installation of FSX cuz as much as I see the spikes as an issue, my main problem is the CTD with all sort of *.dll ( about 4 weeks from my OS and Sims all new and fresh installation) .... running X-Plane and this thing though have some annoying issues, it is stable as a rock, so I'm not in rush ...

..okay guys, some good news .....

took my chances invested another $30 ( please do not anything to the Boss) and got Steve DX10 Fixer, set all up tweaked NV Inspector with AVSIM Guide, took off few times total of about 6 hours in the air with my CT206H and so fare so good,  frame steady at 30 even above KLAX everything is smooth and clear no CTD.... super nice

I actually encountered 2 small issues 

A. I lost the menu bar mean letters are blurry unreadable, I'm trying to figure out how it can be fixed 

B. Still got the milky layer which is a bit annoying 

 

But overall I'm happy and hopefully it will stay like this  :-)

Yeah, this was my experience as well when I switched. The framerate drops disappeared. If I have performance issues now, it's occasional blurry textures, which is annoying, but preferrable since you can still fly the plane.

A: Could be anti-aliasing and NV settings related. Anything else blurry? VC textures like button texts etc?

B: Elaborate? What "milky layer"?

..it is the stuttering cloud/ fog, over terrain,  I think it is a known issue with FSX which DT didn't fix have no idea how to get read of this

But the main major issue for now is my Menu Bar when launching the Sim all the Bar is nothing but dashes, and then they change into Blurry unreadable characters so it leaves me without being able to control the Sim

Sounds like it's the fog over mountenous terrain flickering in the valleys. And no, I don't belive this can be fixed. If it can, someone else might have the solution. Menu bar is a bit strange if nothing else is blurry. Never encountered that
