January 4, 200620 yr Hi all, Im looking to start flying jets after mastering Flight 1's ATR 72! The thing is the PMDG is FAR to taxing for my lowly system (celeron 2.5gig, 1gig of ram, radeon 9550)And the default 737 is great performance FPS wise, but it seems far to powerful for a 737 thrust and engine wise?My question to you all is, is there a good air file, panel, sounds, liverys replacement for the default, BUT with as good performance?I would love to be able to fly the PMDG, but that isnt possible at the moment, so ANY sggestions are welcome:)Cheers all again, Ian
January 4, 200620 yr hmm don't really know how indept the panel is, but maybe worth to check skydecks http://www.sky-decks.com/sd-html_001.htm and i guess combine that with the 50North models http://www.flight1.com/products.asp?product=50N737 would be not that heavy on your system. its not for the default 37 though..Just my 2c.
January 4, 200620 yr hey thanx, just to addd, I get great performance with level d 767 (as good as default aircraft!) so I cant understand why not with the PMDG?
January 4, 200620 yr Hmm yeah that is a bit strange i and i assume most people do get decent performance with it. Ohh and hmm about that 37 panel.. if you get solid performance with the 67, maybe you can see the Feelthere/Wilco 37 pack.. i have it and there has been alot of dicussion on it. but also the framerate problem seem to be caused by the exteriour model, i cant agree with that cuz i havent tried merging it with the 50n yet.. however if that is true maybe just for the panel alone you'll get good performance (without VC) if you merge it with the 50n and pretty indept incl. FMCps. check for Richard Probst 737 panel over at flightsim.com
January 4, 200620 yr The new PIC737 is not an option for you as it is more demanding than the PMDG.I would save the money and buy a new processor and mobo. Your Ram is good, and the VC is not the best, but would do much better with a decent processor. For about $200 you can get a decent AMD athlon + its mobo. With that your PMDG would become usable.Leo
January 4, 200620 yr Well just did a merge with the 50n and the PIC37 is indeed pc hungry, although.. without the weather radar and VC, and with the 50n is flyable, compared to the pmdg the merge is flyable. the original model definatly not.
January 4, 200620 yr A big suggestion for the PMDG 737 is to get rid of the vc and vc + cabin models and only use the 2d panel with the novc model. It makes a large difference in frames.Lee Lee H i9 13900KF 64GB Ram 24GB RTX 4090
January 4, 200620 yr I still use the Dreamfleet 737 which was originally for FS2000 along with Peter McLeland's merge for FS9. No VC but what a beauty of a panel. Dr Zane Gard Sr Staff Reviewer AVSIM Private Pilot ASEL since 1986 IFR 2010 AOPA 00915027 American Mensa 100314888
January 4, 200620 yr hey yeah, ive loaded just the "2D panel model, and tweaked a bit the refresh rate of gauges, getting 17fps now, but it stutters a LOT and drops to 3FPS every min or so! then shoots back up! when I have level D 767 loaded its really smooth:)really strange, tempted to buy the feel there panel as linked above ^^^hhmm must be other options? that 737 panel for fs2002 looks amazing by dreamfleet, but will it be tricky to get into fs9? whats performance like on it?Ian
January 4, 200620 yr well managed to get 17FPS now in the PMDG 737 in 2d view (locked at 18)Its just the stutters in this aircraft now when looking left or right! or in turns.Any way to smoothen it out? cheers for ANY help, driving me crazy this is (im fully defragged, have minimal running etc... lol:p)
January 4, 200620 yr The F1 ATR runs slower on my system than the PMDG 737. If your system can run the ATR I'd bet it can run the 737 better.Matt
January 4, 200620 yr yeah I can run the flight1 ATR perfect, seem strange how the 737 is worse? seems 'heavier' on the memory and cpu!
January 4, 200620 yr I found the PMDG 737 can run perfectly well with specs like yours. I used to have to tweak the environment, screen size etc. but I got her to run as smooth as butter on a lesser machine. Just my two cents....Cheers,Boone
