Folks, will 12GB's of total System Ram run v4.0?

Recommended Posts

My motherboard only allows for a all-in total of 12 GB's of System Ram. I have that installed.  Will I benefit from purchasing v4.0, over my v3.4, with that system limit in mind?

Thoughts, appreciated...

BTW, XP11 which is 64 bits and uses my 12 GB's work quite alright.  Was hoping that the coding for P3D v4.0 would do the same...

What do you folks think?

NO.  The CPU runs it.  RAM doesn't run anything.  It stores it.  Think I'm joking?  This is something most programmers would do best to use as a mantra for a while.

So you're thinking that 12 GB's of System Ram, will NOT be able to run v4.0 at mid to high in-sim settings, and with Orbx...custom mesh, blah, blah, with decent in the 30's FPS?

12GB of system ram is quite enough to run well, providing the rest of the machine is up to the task.

You should be OK.  I think I saw Rob make a post saying he hasn't seen it go over 16GB.  But he is running Max settings with a 12GB GPU too.
