May 31, 20179 yr Hi all, I'm in the middle of a new computer build. All new components except keyboard, mouse and monitor and a new install of win10. I'm not finished getting everything installed/setup yet, but noticed a potential big problem as far as flight sim is concerned. I have been getting random computer restarts since I got windows installed. Yesterday windows did an auto update and it restated 2 or 3 times in a couple of hours after the update completed. I think it happened once or twice also before the update if I remember correctly. I have been doing a bit of internet searching (appears to be an issue with win 10 based on my searches) and have been trying various recommended fixes, so not sure if I solved it yet or not. When it does restart, there is no notification or options given, just a message on the screen saying restarting and then it shuts down within a couple of seconds. This would suck if flying in flight simulator when a restart occurs. Has anyone else experienced random restarts in win 10 and if so what did you do about it?
June 1, 20179 yr Nope, I'm good with my Windows 10. Only restarts sometimes during updates. Robin "Onward & Upward" ... To the Stars, & Beyond...
June 1, 20179 yr Have you activated Win 10 yet? I9 12900K @5.2Ghz 64 GB DDR4, RTX 4090, Win 11 Pro, 15 TB on 5 SSD's
June 1, 20179 yr Author Thanks for the responses. Yes I have activated Win 10. I'm hoping that the handful of suggested tweaks I found while investigating this issue has solved the problem. No restarts since I implemented them.
June 6, 20178 yr I've set my update/forbid-start required time zones in the Update screen. If a download occurs, it will not re-boot my system between the 12 hours that can be set. You might want to try that...
