February 1, 200620 yr Dave,Just unzip the files into your FS2004 main folder (...Microsoft GamesFlight Simulator 9). Make sure that the option 'Use folder names' is checked.Thank's for the heads up - just downloaded it myself :-)Good luckUlf B
February 2, 200620 yr Ulf B,Thanks for that. I have since noticed the instructions in the bit you usually throw away when opening the zip. Crafty eh?Dave T. .........On the Devon Riviera and active 'FlightSim User's Group' member at http://www.flightsimgrpuk.free-online.co.uk/ Dave Taylor
February 2, 200620 yr Any major changes with this new update? Trying to decide if it worth installing the Beaver again.
February 3, 200620 yr I guess I must be a bit dense but where on Aerosoft's can you download the Beaver update?ThanksBruceb Bruce Bartlett Frodo: "I wish none of this had happened." February 4, 200620 yr One of those "They hide it from you" poor web layout things. I went to Aerosoft.com and selected US. Then I went to the Download Shop on the lefthand side. Then I selected "Your Account" at the top and logged in. Then I selected "Order History" at the bottom and there it was. Logical, right? sheesh.Thomas[a href=http://www.flyingscool.com/FC_StartJava.html] http://www.flyingscool.com/images/Signature.jpg [/a]I like using VC's :-) Tom Perry
February 4, 200620 yr Thanks, got it now.Bruceb Bruce Bartlett Frodo: "I wish none of this had happened." Gandalf: "So do all who live to see such times, but that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us."
February 4, 200620 yr Or go direct to http://www/aerosoft-shop.com, click on log in at the top, click on order history at the top and select the appropriate order, which is a lot quicker. ;-)Ian P.
February 4, 200620 yr Hmm,Is there another aerosoft.com web page to go to?When I go to www.aerosoft.com, I get a page asking to select a region (no login at the top). When I select US, it says Newsletter, Register, and Contact at the top, but no login (am I already logged in?), I don't see any Order History either. The only way I could find a login prompt (which I have looked for) is to go to the Download Shop, as I described above.Ahhh, perhaps if I went to www.aerosoft-shop.com to start with, I would see login at the start.Seems to me they should put a login prompt at the top of the www.aerosoft.com page. When I go to the www.aerosoft-shop.com, it knows who I am (It says "Hello Thomas!"). If I select "Your Account" at the top, it still makes me login, even though it knows who I am (ok, reasonable I imagine for security purposes). But, instead of putting the login fields at the top of the page, I have to select "Your Account" and then it opens up yet another page to have me log in. It is not till I have logged in and gone past this page to yet another page that I see Order History, and it is not at the top of page.Plus, Order History is not the intuitive choice I would have made to check to get updates for the products I have purchased. I only went there because there was no other choice.I still contend that the Aerosoft.com interface is quite clumsy and hard to get around to receive updates and service my account., At the top of the www.aerosoft.com page should be two fields, Login and Password. I should be able to fill these fields in, select "Go" and go directly to the page for servicing my account. On this page should be a choice called Updates, or it could put all updates available on the My Account page directly.Thomas[a href=http://www.flyingscool.com/FC_StartJava.html] http://www.flyingscool.com/images/Signature.jpg [/a]I like using VC's :-) Tom Perry
February 6, 200620 yr Yes it is a bit of a mess, hopefully the folks at aerosoft will take the hint and make their site more user friendly.Bruceb Bruce Bartlett Frodo: "I wish none of this had happened." February 6, 200620 yr Matter of fact, I just finished trying to reinstall that great little Beaver myself a few minutes ago. I went through all the process of getting the registration key that I had lost, went through the process of running the installer, then got stuck when the installer couldn't find flight simulator on my system. It's sitting there at the default location where it has always been. I even browsed to it for the installer, but it still "couldn't find it". So I can't even reinstall it.Has anyone else ever encountered this problem where an installer can't find flight simulator? And if so, what is the fix? Thanks.Dewey
February 6, 200620 yr I now keep my FS at the default location just for this reason, to avoid any issues (like I had in the past)Funny I noticed they now have a reset button on the accounts page, so I tried it....still hasn't been re-activated, LOLRegards, MichaelKDFWhttp://www.calvirair.com/mcpics/mcdcvabanner.jpgCalVirAir International Best, Michael KDFW
February 6, 200620 yr get filemon and regmon, both freeware, set them up, run the installer, see which file or registry key it considers to be the proof of the sim's existence, add it manually, run the installer again...
