July 21, 20178 yr A bit surprised. First time trying the cockpit lighting (using the ramp manager presets) and as soon as I activate either the white or the red preset, my VC FPS are halved from approximately 50-55 down to 20-25. This makes the DC-6 virtual cockpit the most FPS hungry of my entire virtual hangar. A week ago I upgraded my graphics card from the MSI GTX 970 with 4GB VRAM to the MSI GTX 1070 with 8GB VRAM yet this lighting brings it to a painful crawl. Never had any issues with the NGX, 777 or the 747 even when still using the older card and the exact same graphics settings. As soon as the light are turned off, the FPS goes back to above 50. Did anyone else notice such a massive FPS drop? Cheers! kityatyi I7 6700K 4.6 GHz, MSI Geforce GTX 1070 8GB GDDR5 16GB DDR4 Corsair Vengeance 2666 MHz RAM, 750GB SSD, 1TB HDD
July 21, 20178 yr I'm experiencing the same issue on P3D v4, dynamic lights off, 2xMSAA on a GTX580 (I know it's an old card, but I can adjust my settings to mantain stable fps everytime/everywhere). If I turn only the red panel lights the issue doesn't happen, but with all cockpit lights on, fps are halved down by half (from 55/60 to 35/30) and the sim turns into a stutter fest. July 21, 20178 yr Author As it's the case most of the time, it was my carelessness. For some reason - probably a scenery add-on installer did it - my antialiasing setting was changed from 8xMSAA to 8xSSAA and my texture resolution from 2048x2048 to 4096x4096. I have set them back, 8xMSAA and 2048x2048 and the FPS are back over 50 with the cockpit lighting. :-P kityatyi I7 6700K 4.6 GHz, MSI Geforce GTX 1070 8GB GDDR5 16GB DDR4 Corsair Vengeance 2666 MHz RAM, 750GB SSD, 1TB HDD

July 21, 20178 yr Neither i or any other beta team member noticed any performance impact with the DC6 lighting. Dan Downs KCRP
