Will i be able to run V4 smooth?

Featured Replies

I've still not updated to V4 after having a break from the sim. I currently run 3.3.5 and the sim run smooth with average settings. So before i upgrade to V4 im wondering if it still will run smooth on this system:

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 4GB
Intel i7-4790k 4GHz
16gb RAM
Windows 7 64 bit

Lockheed recommends a gfx card with 8 gb, on V3 they recommend 4 gb. What do you guys think?

It will depend on your settings. That system will run it just fine but not with all the bells and whistles going.

RIG#1 - I9 14900K MSI Pro z790 RTX 5070Ti

With that rig your sim will run smooth as silk and better than V3 for sure.

I'm running the same rig. I switched from FSX to V4 a couple weeks ago and I have been slowly loading up v4 up with the necessary add ons. I have only done two full test flights - lots of tooling around, but only a couple of real flights. My add ons: NGX, AS16, UTL 100%, ProATCx, GSX, many FSDT and PIS sceneries (whatever I own from FSX that has been updated with native installers), FTX Global with multiple regions, NA openLC but no FTX Vector,

First flight was out of FSDT JFK at dusk with thunderstorms in the area. I got some really long pauses while everything initialized. I'm guessing the issue was UTL. Once things settled down, taxi and take off was smooth. The HD lights may have also been an issue with the pause. Maybe it was cloud layers. Second flight was our of RDU during the day. Very smooth. Very nice.

Considering I am running a few things that may need some patches and UTL is still in beta, I am pretty pleased. I need to do more flying to see where I may have to dial things down.

One thing I forgot to note - my AI textures can be slow loading, so I'll need to work on that
