VC cockpit darker than I like

Featured Replies

I love Prepar3dv4 so much over FSX for many, many reasons...lack of.OOM's being the most appreciated. HOWEVER, I find that the VC's are very dark compared to FSX.  All other lighting is acceptable and even more desirable.  How can I tweak JUST the VC to make it brighter?

Stan

Try this as a test:

Lighting
shadow quality:  off

HDR on:
Brightness 0.85
Bloom 0.85
Saturation 0.80

Thanks, Bert. Will try tonight.  You've always had great suggestions in the past.  I appreciate it.

Bert,

If these settings dont suit, what value do you recommend for adjustment and do you increase or decrease.

Bert,

Wow.  Big difference.  Those settings do what I was looking for.  The main difference came when I switched off Shadow Quality.  I already had HDR off and the 3 settings you recommend.  Again, as always, I appreciate and respect your knowledge of flight simulation.

This makes P3D4 look a lot like the FSX we know...

I am sure that some will cringe at turning off shadows, but I quite like it this way.

Bert

Turning off the new features of P3D to make it look like the ancient FSX.   Strange ......
