September 2, 20178 yr Does the new Reality XP GNS 530 W come with a database that covers the entire world ? If so, which one..... clearly it is essential to sync your various nav data with other apps such as Radar Contact and FS Commander. If it doesn't support Navigraph, only Garmin, this would make it very expensive, as it's 200 bucks a year. A one off database is cheaper, but I would still need to be able to sync my other databases, and wouldn't be able to use VATSIM. Could you pleade clear this up.
September 2, 20178 yr The GNS V2 comes with its own database. There are already a few discussions about this in the respective FS/XP forums:
September 2, 20178 yr Author Not exactly clear though is it. Still confusion and noone seems to know what works natively and what needs hacking. Uour site is even less clear.... "version 2 coming". When was that even written ? Seems like you've just made the old one compatible with P3D...?!? Regardless, I would still appreciate an answer to my above question.... I wouldn't even consider a purchase without one.
September 2, 20178 yr Author So exactly what data is available with the gauge ? Is it whole world, November 2016 or Feb 2006 ? We do have other addons to sync with this device. Some actual information would be useful. I would like to know what data is included. Not everyone cares about the U.S. Is Europe covered ? Can a navigraph AIRAC be obtainedvto ensure data synching with other programs such as flight planning programs and Radar Contact and the FMC databases of more complex aircraft. You are really cutting off many of your potential customers by not explaining exactly what it is, you are selling.
September 2, 20178 yr To keep your databases fully updated would require a Garmin purchase. The application utilises the Garmin Trainer, which is what gives it it's ultimate realism. This is what GNS/GTN owners/users train with in real life. The downside is that the database is out of date until Garmin release an updated Trainer. You are correct, it cannot be updated by Navigraph. David Porrett
September 2, 20178 yr Author Ok, well thanks for that. But, is it clear which AIRAC it is as we need to get the corresponding databases to sync with rest of my addons. No point having different nav data in my flight planner is there..... sorry, but I appear to be unable to get this point across...... sheeeeeeeze, I'm off to bed.
September 2, 20178 yr Relax. I think it is something like 1611 or so, can't remember but that is close. You got your point across. If you're looking for a 2017 database you are out of luck, unless you have a friend that owns one. Clearly the product doesn't meet your demands. David Porrett
September 2, 20178 yr Hi, please don't cross post otherwise this dilutes the chances to give you an answer. This thread and the others about the database should have been clear enough, nevertheless, let me try to answer! About Navigraph or any other database, the question (and the answer that follows) is in this thread: The database included with the GNS V2 trainer is about October 2009, and is compatible with the GTN trainer database (GTN trainer v6.01 which is July 2016 if I remember correctly).
