June 9, 200619 yr Out of curiosity, is anyone with this problem using the AdvDisp module? I understand users of RC3 may use this?I use it to suppress on screen messages when flying with SB3 on VATSIM.
June 9, 200619 yr I have used it for RC4 but don't need to now as Peter Dowson has produced a new transparent window thingy that does much the same thing. It seems this problem is reasonably widespread and I'm stumped. One thought I do have is that with automatic windows updates enabled our PCs environments are changing regularly without us even being aware of it and maybe one of the recent changes is the culprit. For a long time I didn't use automatic windows updates becuase of the havoc they can sometimes produce. However we have Hobson's choice here and not using Windows updates is a bigger hazard.Bruceb Bruce Bartlett Frodo: "I wish none of this had happened." I still like to SEE everything that Microsoft wants to update before taking the plunge. For me, automatic updates will always be a no-no.
June 11, 200619 yr Can you shed some light on what might've fixed your problem? I uninstalled the 84.21 drivers, went through all the steps to clean things up, and reinstalled them, and the problem is still occurring. Anytime I enable ANY level of hardware AA or AF, within 5 minutes of loading a flight in FS2004, the screen will ghost and split if I bring up a tooltip or popup window. Guaranteed. Seven different sets of drivers dating back to the early 6x.xx versions haven't fixed it. Changing settings in FS2004 hasn't fixed it. A full reinstall of FS2004 hasn't fixed it. A full reinstall of WINDOWS hasn't fixed it. The only thing that potentially changed was that when I turned "render to texture" off and turned vertical sync on, it took longer to start ghosting (maybe 10 minutes instead of 5). I'm getting pretty bloody sick of not being able to run any antialiasing when I've got the hardware to at least run 2x or 2xQ.Lewis "Moose" GregoryRichmond, Virginia Lewis "Moose" Gregory Durham, North Carolina
