March 9, 200620 yr I know, I know... This has probably been talked about multiple times, but as the owner of both products, I cant decide which one to go with. Which one, BEV or GE, do you guys opt for? Can decide for my self. I finally figured out today, thanks to Greg "SoarPics" that FSUIPC is the answer to the unrealistic visibility situation within FS9. Now, even on clear days, visibility is reduced to smog and haze as it is in the real world. Now with my biggest pet-peeve behind me, Im wondering what the best ground textures are.Just looking for every one's opinion on the issue. Thanks in advance guys! :-wave Chase Barnett
March 9, 200620 yr Both are great products that actually work well together... :-)We all have our preferences but one doesn't outweigh the other especially once BEV is fully realized... March 9, 200620 yr Im more for BEV because you get to choose your texture of preference. I wish both offered higher detailed textures at a when at a lower altitude. They really dont start to show off their detail untill a certain altitude is reached. Chase Barnett
March 9, 200620 yr GE, because BEV is not yet offering worldwide coverage, and it remains to be seen how many texture tiles are repeated from the USA in their Europe and ROTW sets. Other than that, for the USA - both. Change as the mood takes you. There is no `better`, there is only `choice`, so there is no answer to the question. And we;ve already goe thorugh this at least two lengthy threads so I suggest you have a look at those to help you decide.Allcott

March 9, 200620 yr Commercial Member Hi Hugo,I suppose you're talking about the issue with the stark contrast of ground textures where the detailed "world model" meets the basic "world model", as shown in this thread - http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/show...=water+problems - and not about texture sharpness. If yes then no setting in the FS9.cfg or elsewhere will make a difference when you have high visibility without clouds. That's because FS uses different sets of textures for the background and the foreground. The background set is hard-coded whereas the foreground textures are your default or replacement land class textures.I've seen Peter hinting that their might be GE updates for reducing the contrast of the boundary but you'd have to ask him for specifics.Cheers, Holger
