Hi Chris, nope, that's one of several unfortunate mistakes in the default water/shoreline files. I don't think there's any free fix for it available though Ultimate Terrain USA would take care of the problem.Cheers, Holger

Really?? I've never noticed it before. :(Bummer. I'll try to get UT when I can afford it maybe. Thanks

Actually that may not be an error at all. The Union Pacific Railroad does cross directly over the Great Salt Lake on a causeway/trestle. Check out Google Earth or any mapping program and see if that is what FS2004 may be displaying.Todd

Hi there, that's pretty funny that the RR causeway almost matches that shoreline mistake; makes it a little less annoying ;-)Here's a quick shot in LWMViewer of the default shoreline and railroiad files for that area. Shorelines are yellow and the RR is the black&white line. Notice the way the shoreline crosses the lake in E/W direction whereas the default railroad doesn't even cross the lake.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/144614.jpgThe second shot is of the same area with the corresponding Ultimate Terrain USA files. The incorrect shoreline is gone and the railroad, here in yellow, crosses the lake on a narrow causeway (it's hard to see but the UT water file actually draws in a land bridge underneath the railroad).http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/144613.jpgCheers, Holger

Holger,I don't think it is a mistake. Look at the worldlc.bgl:http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/144638.jpgAlso, if you at a high zoom in LWMViewer, you can see that the line is carefully drawn, with different widths (though not in the actual place, as is the norm for default data). Here is NASA WorldWind:http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/144640.jpgAnd with UT USA and GE:http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/144641.jpgwhich looks pretty much better.scott s..
