March 13, 200620 yr That sucks, how much does that go for? Intel I7 12700KF / 32 GB Ram-3600mhz / Windows 11 - 64 bit / NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060TI / 32" Acer Monitor, Honeycomb alpha/bravo, CH rudder pedals, Tobii 5, Buttkicker, Logitech radio panel.
March 13, 200620 yr No idea yet because the new OS isn't out yet though I expect it would be around the same as XP was when it first came out.FSX does not to my knowlage REQUIRE Vista however though the MS folk do say that it will run better on Vista. I'll probobly get it, even though I run Linux for most everything nowadays. I still need Windows for my Flight Sim though :-(
March 15, 200620 yr From all reports so far MS are saying that to get the best from FSX you should run it on "Vista" However it will run on XP.I think its worth noteing that Windows "Vista" is a new 64bit operating system so the question is not only how much will "Vista" cost but if you are like many still, your current computer is likely to be a 32bit processor. Therefore to fully appreciate FSX at its best you will need not only to upgrade your OS to "Vista" but also your computer to run it.
March 16, 200620 yr I heard you can get the beta of VISTA, but I think you have to be a member of some site. I hope FSX will run smoothly on XP.CheersAlexwww.fs2crew.comhttp://www.fs2crew.com/betateam.jpg
March 16, 200620 yr The current beta you must be a developer subscriber. There is a DirextX SDK with DX10 stuff in it you can try.I guess there are going to be something like 6 flavors of Vista, so who knows what one or ones might be OK for FSX. I think they should all run FS9 OK, in fact better than XP. That's because there is a new driver model that is supposed to make better use of the graphics hardware for DX9. But, the new desktop aka Aero is 3d, so I would imagine that windowed apps (and FS9 in windowed mode) might require more horsepower than in WinXP. I would think a system that runs FS9 well will also run Vista well.scott s..

Could it be an alternative? Or maybe it's stupid to get it instead of waiting and spending the money on Vista?
