October 9, 20178 yr https://earthsims.uservoice.com/knowledgebase/articles/235619-i-need-the-autogen-compatibility-files anyone recall this issue that if you install these sceneries (Orbx and Earthsimulations and VFR Scenery) they overwrite the files within the p3d folder \autogen? default.xml AutogenDescriptions.spb Materials.spb RoofDescriptions.spb So after each addon install it messes up the autogens of the previous installed addons. Was this problem ever solved? Did P3Dv4's file structure changes help solve this issue? If not what is the solution? Earthsimulation once gave a solution for this issue (above link on merging the autogen files) would that work now for P3Dv4? (the file download link don't work anymore. its dead) Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
October 9, 20178 yr LM's new file structure doesn't help. Although you can define a new autogen folder, it just replaces the original and doesn't merge them. What you need is "Autogen Configuration Merger" here: https://www.scenerydesign.org/autogen-configuration-merger/ Dave Garwood.
October 9, 20178 yr Commercial Member Yeah, Dave's link is the way to go for developers, and people who create their own files. Honestly, I meant to open a dialog about this issue with LM, but frankly I've been overwhelmed with projects and can't take another on. The concept is rather simple, either replace the autogen system (highly unlikely they'll do that) or create a manageable library which will allow for swapping different files in and out. The latter solution is not only far more versitile, it is extremely fast and would operate outside of flight sim (though it would have to be done before the flight sim is loaded). I'll pass this to LM later today and see if they'll consider this, though it doesn't have to be LM to do it since technically it is outside of the sim itself. October 9, 20178 yr Author I checked out France VFR..they do have a tool (AGX) there as well...but Orbx is left out from the list http://www.francevfr.com/agx.htm Only LM can rein these guys and solve this issue. Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
