I have not seen half the people stating to uninstall the entire application and then reinstall it. Most people seem to be just swapping out the old Client for the new Client msi file. Many people are also choosing to update the Content file as well. What a dreadfully long and error prone process it would be to uninstall the entire app as well as many add-ons and reinstall them when there is no need as LM has provided a solid means to avoid all that trouble.

If you are saying this it's obvious you haven't been reading anything around here at all lately

I did not have to uninstall any of my add-ons, from scenery to aircraft.  I followed these steps as outlined oft in these forums:

1. Uninstalled Content

2. Uninstalled Client

3. Executed the Client.msi

4. Executed the Content.msi

5. Opened the app and provided my user id and password

6. Did test taxi around an airport with one of my add-on aircraft (The Carenado 337)

7. Exited the app

8. Uninstalled the scenery

9. Executed the Scenery.msi

10. Ready for takeoff!

I did not have to remove any add-ons, the uninstall does not touch files that don't belong to P3d.  I backed up my scenery.cfg just in case, but the update preserved my scenery add-ons.  Kudos to LM for doing it this way, I won't fear another upgrade again.

And to add, I did not have to run as Admin because I had UAC turned off, since I am the only user on my system and I find it rather annoying.  My virus scanner and firewall were on during the process and did not complain a bit.

Anyone knows what folders are being modified by the Content package ?

Some folders in my main Scenery folders have modified files which I do not want to loose.

thanks, Gerard

Interesting.

What did you mean by point 8? Was there particular addon scenery you had to uninstall?

No, I only uninstalled the default scenery, thanks for asking the question, it clarifies what I meant

And to add, I just took a flight around the north bay of San Francisco  I can turn the aircraft easily both in auto coordinated mode and non auto coordinated mode.  With auto coordination, the front wheel does not turn but when I apply right or left pressure on my joystick, the aircraft turns just fine, like a tiller or an Ercoupe.  When I apply rudder (my stick does not have a twist option, so I use the keys on the numeric keypad), the wheel turns just fine.  There were some reports of turning problems, but they were specific to certain add-ons
