October 14, 20178 yr Is is possible to change the FMC UTC time, possibly on the POS INIT page (enter say 1400Z and press LSK4) without causing a major disruption/crash? I'm currently over the Atlantic during VATSIM CTP 2017 Eastbound and the time is off by 3+04. Thanks, Eric Dziura Eric Dziura
October 14, 20178 yr Commercial Member I had the same problem. I resolved this by doing a Direct To the same waypoint you're headed to. I've never seen this problem before. Best wishes. October 14, 20178 yr Author Thank you for the suggestion. Tried that; did not correct the time. Not sure how it got so far off in the first place; suspect that I didn't update my FSX-SE date/time when I first started this morning. Eric Dziura Eric Dziura
October 14, 20178 yr Try saving the flight then try changing the simulator date/time. Might not do anything to the simulation in progress except reload textures but if it does create problems you have backup. Easiest thing to do is just go with it and keep it in mind as a lesson learned. Dan Downs KCRP
October 14, 20178 yr Author Good advice; don't want to crash at this point; adding it to my list of things to learn about for the next CTP. Eric Dziura Eric Dziura
October 14, 20178 yr Commercial Member We may not be having the same issue then. I had updated my time before the flight, and the time in the aircrash (grin) was fine, but the FMS time was whacked... even reported earlier times for waypoints further away... about 2 minutes different between them. Hours were 6 hours off the wrong way as well. Totally FUBAR, but it was resolved by the Direct To same waypoint. November 19, 20178 yr There's a solution... though cheap, ain't free: http://www.3dsoftworks.net/products/fsrealtime/default.asp Positive Rates, Sergio Gomes
November 19, 20178 yr Commercial Member There is a free one as well... FSTimeSync. I believe it's available here in the library, but if not Google will find it right away. This was just in response / addition to FS Real Time, I don't know if it will resolve the OPs issues. Best wishes.
