March 24, 200620 yr I highly recommend getting the 800/900 or both the 600/700 and 800/900 from PMDG. Aerosoft packages the two suites each on CD and provides a small CD service pack and related FAQ on their site. The 800/900 alone or with the 600/700 updates panel features including adding a a TCAS to the ND and it appears some more items in the FMC have been activated.I have been pleased with both.As I recall, no registration was required to activate the CD version but it has been a few months. These CDs list at 39.95 USD but frequently are on sale at the usual sites and some retail stores.I am emulating Hapag-lloyd Express in Germany/Switzerland/Italy with the 700, KLM and Sun-Country (US) (800), and soon Air-Berlin. (I like crossing the Alps - look for Holger's mesh in the libs.) I also later purchased Aerosoft's German Airports 1,3,4. The freeware airports from the Italian Acenery Design Project (isdproject.com) are also excellent. These files are hosted here on AVSIM.From reading several issues of various real-world airliner type magazines, the -700 and -800 are most prevalent of the 737NG types.A good manual to supplement the PMDG documentation is Captain Mike Ray's 700 series PC sim book described at www.utem.org. It concentrates not on systems but on the FMC and flight procedures relavent to the Boeing 700 new generation panels. It is quite a few bucks but then I find it rewarding to acquire this environment over a few months (both CDs were purchased at the same time because it is easier to install both at the same time in a specified order).
March 25, 200620 yr Without a doubt, yes, get the CD versions, easier to re-install should you ever need to, and if you buy at the right place, probably significantly cheaper too. Also, get FSCrew for it at http://www.fs2crew.com/
